That's right! Post all news, pics, videos, etc. that you can find from this week's E3 show in this thread. This way people can find all the latest in one thread instead of searching through multiple threads! This will be sticky-fied for your pleasure.
I can't wait to hear more about Nintendo's little Wii-Wii!

Oh my god! I stumbled across the new screenshots for Supreme Commander and I'm still going nuts over it. What they've shown so far astounds me and can't wait for its release. Gas Powered Games will be teasing people at E3 about what they now have. If anyone an I mean ANYONE has some awesome information to share about it, I will be all open ears and eyes. Plus camera shots would be appreciated!
Check out the new screens here (http://media.pc.ign.com/media/755/755287/imgs_1.html)
This is one of the amazing pics I've seen out of the new shots:

Then of course they're talking about Unreal Turnament 2007 being showcased at E3. I really want to see how that is turning out as well!

Wow. The Sony press conference just showed a PS3/Eye Toy card battle game. It was amazing. They put a card down on the table, the eye toy read it, and generated a monster on top of the card (just like the cartoons!) Throw down another card, and the two creatures will fight! It was really cool, and I want it. It was called, um . . . I can't remember. Eye of judgement!
OMG! PSP is gonna emulate PS1, via the memory stick!
They just showed a trailer for a game3 called LAIR. You guys have got to check it out. Fighting on the backs of dragons!
They just showed another game, Assasins (something) that looked really good (for ps3). Hmm ... and Tekken 6.

I didn't expect much from Sony anyway. So far the only thing that sounds good is the PS1 emulation on the PSP. IF it's done right. I have no video so I have not seen the so-called awesome PS3 "Dashboard" interface. Nor have I seen what I'm hoping is Naughty Dog's Crash Bandicoot/Jak & Daxter successor for the PS3. I want screen caps!

Holy shit! The bastards did it! They put freaking motion control in the goshdang DualShock 3.
WTF?
Have they no shame? They opened up with a big speech about how the Sony Controller was a big revolution when the PS1 came out. (Which it WASN'T. Not for years until NINTENDO came out with rumble features and control sticks.) Now they blatantly rip off the motion stuff and pass it off as if they just came up with it on their own?

Sony will be the topic of conversation for the next... 16 hours. The new EyeToy game really grabbed me but I'm at work so i can't really view video... much. It's not something I'm personally interested in but it's definitely a direction I'd like to see the industry move in.
The PS1 emulation will kick all kinds of ass if you can emulate games you own, but I'm sure they'll charge through the nose for downloads of games you've already paid for. That blows, and it's the same boat I'm in for the Virtual Console. Just give me emus for games I already own and I'll be mighty happy.
The online features are pretty much a been there, done that reaction from me. And I have no desire to download videos of other users performances in SingStar. Ugh.
And this just in, holy shit, Sony copied Nintendo in record time here. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I guess.
But they stick to the dual shock controller in the end. Assholes.
Oh oh, this is lovely.
It will be available in two versions: one with a 60GB hard drive, and one with 20GB. It will launch in the US on November 17 for $499 for the 20GB version and $599 for the 60GB one.
They have got one hell of an uphill battle ahead of them.
I'm kinda pissed off. I know I want one because it WILL have FFXIII and a whole load of other JRPGs I want, but $500, $600? CHRIST.

From the sounds of it having only 6-way motion sensing capabilities, I really don't expect it to steal much thunder from the Wii. Tilting, banking, and altitiude is likely all it'll do which is a far cry from using the Wiimote to perform lob shots and put overhand spin on a tennis ball.
EDIT: But seriously, Dualshock 3? Those fucking cocksuckers. What the hell is wrong with them? I don't mind the blatant plagerism of motion sensing from Nintendo and Xbox Live from Microsoft, those are great ideas that deserve to be replicated.
And you know how many times someone has tried to replicate the Dualshock controller? ZERO. Why? Because it's NOT WORTH REPLICATING. I'm more pissed about this than I am about the price because that really was to be expected.

Hmm. Not what I wanted to see from Sony. Graphically, I saw nothing that blows MS out of the water, especially with the difference in price. Controller-wise, I saw nothing that blew Nintendo out of the water, especially at that price.
Also, regarding the same dual shock design: am I the only one who hates where the analog sticks are on those things? There was a reason why the d-pad was higher up when that was the focus - comfort. I would love to see the right stick moved higher.
Overall, I think this creates a real interesting scenario for this generation. Nintendo with a real shock to how games are played, albeit with less graphical pop. MS staying the course, with a lot more shine on the product. Sony doing a little of both, and doing so half-assed. If history is any indication, I think Sony still might come out on top b/c of the name and the supposed "best of both worlds", even if it is more likely a mediocre combining of both worlds.

Naughty Dog's game was a very Tomb Raider-esque game with no listed title and honestly looked so so. The lead character is a human, so theres no more furry critters popping up, at least for the time being. The footage shown looked to be ingame stuff, but it was a video.
Insominac's game was called Resistance: Fall Of Man. A 1950's based shooter taking place in England/Europe where England is the last Free State in Europe/The World. The gameplay looked ok, but the levels felt too chaotic for me. Just alot of these alien baddies that took over the world popping in and out of the Rubble.
@ Sony in general.
The Price point, though high, will still sell and they will sell well. They are even more recognized than MS and they got away with the 399 tag. Sony will get away with the 20Gig 499 and 60Gig 599 tag no question. The controller is interesting and took one step above Nintendo's, there is no need for a relay switch on top of your TV, which is nice considering the TV's they are aimed at are so thin that there's really no place for one as it is. The controller is so light because well... there probably isn't a rumble feature built into it... What will make it or break it is what developers do to it, but that will most likley depend on what the Nintendo Developers do for that controller.
Their online service will be a XBL clone. However, like with XBL the extra game content that they are hyping is more than likely going to be way more on the thin side than it is out there for every game. Look at the general lack of DL content that shows up for games on XBL as it is. Maps take eons to show, and there are rarely updated past the one or two times something new gets put up.
The games though they look nice, arn't anything all that special yet... Give them a year, and then the real hot shit will start to show.
The PSP-PS3 connectivity isn't going to be anything hot or wow, since its got that same feel of what happened with the cube and the GBA. Wow, select your play on the GBA so the opponent cant see you.... Use your PSP as a rear view mirror... Ohhh Ahhhh.

I was thinking that too, but then I realized something: Sony is missing the other 354 degrees Nintendo has. It will be nice though for the reason the demo shown illustrated, as long as it isn't as exagerated as it seemed from the descritiptions. If you really have to move it a large degree to do anything then it'll be worthless. You've got no range of motion when you're forced to have your hands clasped together.
Now if all it offers is tiling and no movement aspects, I think it'll be great. But the way IGN made it sound seems like it'll be pretty worthless.

I watched the guy play WarHawk (or whatver) with it. It was full ship movement with its tilting, including barrel rolls and stuff like that where he was actually turning the controller a full 360. It didn't look aquard other than I think it was a REALLY new functionality tossed into the game, so like all new controllers, we're all gonna look like asses for a little bit until we get the hang of it.

Just read about the news of the PS3's launch date and price a few hours ago at GameSpot. Good freaking grief. I knew the PS3 was gonna be exspensive but $600 for the 60GB hard drive version. Even $500 for the 20GB version doesn't seem cheap to me. Feels like Sony just kicked me in the balls. I loved the PSX and I love my PS2 but Sony can just go screw themselves now. Call me poor, I don't care but $500 is way too much for a freaking game machine.

Yeah, I know it doesn't actually work like that, but I suppose I need to see a video of that Warhawk demo.
But the fact still remains that it being a two handed controller without accelerometers gives it far more restricted applications than the Wiimote. It may require a sensor atop your TV, but it'll have infinitely more uses than the PS3 controller. Although I'm pretty sure if the thought of a Wii Pilotwings can give me a boner, the video of Warhawk could give me half a pack of rolaids in my diaper as well.

Well, they cleared it up by losing. This is a big deal to me, because I think the rumble feature adds A LOT to games. Imagine Fatal Frame with no rumble. This is one of the things that really puts you in the game, and the Sony Pii no longer has it.

I've been thinking that for awhile now, and now with the price of the PS3 being what it is, it makes it an even smarter move on MS's part. Go $249 and $349 for the core and premium, and the price is then nearly half of Sony's offering. This would also place the core system in a competitive position against the Wii, which I think is going to be the break-out star of the next generation. It's the cheapest and it's the only one that seems to offer something new.

You know what, I'm with Suckerpunch on this one. To hell with Sony, and to hell with Microsoft for that matter. I don't care anymore. I think all this bullshit about stealing controllers and making people try and guess what the price is going to be in 2009... I mean, everything they announce, or "leak" is done by some guys who sit back and say "If we announce that we also have a Wobbly controller, even a cheap one, it'll make our stock value go *this* way, and maybe Nintendo shares will go *that* way, then my Nintendo investor buddy will sell everything before that, and then after he gives me my kickback at the Country Club we'll hire a hacker to hack the EA page and announce some EA merger that will make their stock go under, so we can buy them... then we'll play two rounds of golf, do our cocaine and go home."
The PoS2 and the Xbox combined didn't give me a fraction of the fun my NES gave me, nor is it giving me half the fun my Japanese Saturn or PC Engine DUO is giving me now. I'm just going to stay in my little cave here and play Legend of Zelda for the rest of my life. :/

I seriously thought Sony was going to be smart, but I guess they are too cought up into themselves in having dominated last gen. What they fail to realise is that if Gamecube would have came out around the same time, gamecube and sony would have had closer competition.

I mean, unless I'm selling this on ebay, I'd have to be out right crazy to buy it. If I was wealthy, I'd get it, but I'm not close to wealthy.
I seriously thought Sony was going to be smart, but I guess they are too cought up into themselves in having dominated last gen. What they fail to realise is that if Gamecube would have came out around the same time, gamecube and sony would have had closer competition.
I was able to get my greedy hands on 4 Xbox 360's last launch, and I sold 3 of them. The money that I made on the 3 deals paid for my 360 as well as a nice little laptop. You simply must learn how to use the system, and make it work for you. Sure, you can consider me a "Profiteer" for doing that, but shit, this crap is expensive. I have to figure out some way to pay for it all. It's not my fault that these companies have me addicted to their crack cocaine in the form of new consoles and games.

Sony has balls thinking that the mainstream public is going to shell out $500 for thier system, and that is for the cheap one! This is a very gutsy move, which may cost them dearly. It is offically confirmed that my next system will be the Wii just by the default of price.

I can totally see a 360 price drop when the PS3 hits just to enhance the distance between the price points of the two systems. It would be MS' smartest move ever.
Chris
Well I agree that the Wii will be the break-out Star but I still think that most gamers will have the Wii and another console even though I still think the PS3 will be the main system this generation, if anything the blu-ray player helps alot.

very interesting time to be a gamer.

So, the PlayStation 3 is still ugly, then? I'm not too excited. I'll be waiting a long time before I pick a PS3 up.
Bring on Nintendo's annoucements. Hell, I even hope the 360 makes a splash.

Anybody that is actually attending the e3 show, please go to the Sony area, and tell every rep you see that they absolutely, positively must bring back the rumble function. They can lose the motion sensor, considering it's a lame immitation of the Wii, and it's not even very good. For the Wii it makes alot of sense, for a Dual Shock? NO. It will only be good with driving and flying games. Big freaking deal. you know it's going to be underutilized. They need to bring back the Rumble.
Playing a FPS without rumble, is like eating dry toast. I like to feel my AK47 as I'm shooting it, and I like to feel when I've been shot. Remember the heart beat in the first Silent Hill game?
Also, what about trying to play old PS1 or PS2 games on the PS3, and you can't use the rumble feature? How freaking retarded is that?
SO PLEASE, IF YOU ARE AT e3, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN. There is still time for them to change their minds.

Most consumers, myself included do not have an HD capable set let alone a 1080P capable set and I don't see myself buying one for at least two years maybe longer. In order to utilize PS3 and even Xbox 360 you need an HD set otherwise the games don't look any better than PS2, Xbox or Gamecube or even Dreamcast and an upgrade is just a colossal waste of money. This is why I think Wii is going to be the way to go, its cost effective, it offers people something new and fun, you don't need to shell out $1500+ for a new TV (Again!) and you'll be guaranteed great first and second party support for years to come, not to mention the HD systems are and will be riddled with inexcusable load times.
Sony's not going to fare well after the initial launch craze on this new system if they expect normal people to spend this much for a toy and the edition of Blu-Ray is null and void at this point as the HD industry has captured maybe 5% of the industry at best. It's going to be tough for them. And for god sake's replace that fucking Dual shock already, at least switch the D-pad and left analog stick positions its been long enough!
And stop ripping off other companies hard work you assholes!

Yeah, excuse me while I sell off one of my yachts so I can buy a PS3.
I don't bloody care if Playstation 3 proves the existence of God, cures cancer, and gets me married to a supermodel with guaranteed orgasms on the hour, every hour. It's six hundred fucking dollars and it's a machine that plays games.
 :P LOL 8-)
If I was at E3, I'd be busy putting that onto t-shirts and selling them outside the door. I'd make a killing.

That was such a boring press conference. Nothing exciting at all, none of the games interested me.
Oh wow, PSP as a wing mirror, wait a second, i saw 2 wing mirrors on the actual screen as part of the car, which didn't seem to be reflecting. Since you're in 1080p, just look at the damn screen.
Sure, some of the graphics for games looked nice but none of the games made me want to play them at all. Only interesting thing was the EyeToy card game which I personally am not interested in but can see taking off among the kids.
The big surprise at the end. Oh, very knee-jerk Sony. They were trying to rub it in to Nintendo "revolutionary with the familiar controller design" but your controller still is horrible in the first place, its such a mess of features that have been tacked on and dont quite work as well as the originals Sony copied. I still feel 2 shoulder buttons is uncomfortable and seems to just one-up the SNES and they still haven't got analogue triggers, sigh. The sticks (well the left one) is still in the wrong place. 6 degrees of freedom, i'm thinking rotation about each axis and acceleration along each axis? Its not quite move how you want Wii stylee but for holding with 2 hands will do everything you want depending on sensitivity and range. No rumble though, hmm, thats a shame.
Price point - if you think its expensive in America, well, its even more so in Europe- still 500 but in Euros, a quick conversion gives this as $635, so, Europeans pay an extra $135. Ouch! What with Sony saying all games will be region free makes it cheaper to import the damn thing! At least its out on the same day.
Well, Sony are going for best of all worlds - HD, graphics, motion sensing and in addition blu-ray. In the end it all adds up to a hefty price. Can you get both a Wii and a 360 for that price and end up happier?
Sweet! Looking at this picture (http://media.ds.ign.com/articles/705/705670/img_3578021.html) from Atlus booth it looks like they are going to release Osawari Tantei: Osawa Rina as Touch Detective in the US. It's a point and click adventure with a really nice art style.

Julio III: I agree. I had a scan through all of the E3 news this morning before work, and the first day seemed really dull. The PlayStation 3 doesn't inspire me to play games. There is no love. Bring on Day 2!

Oh MAN I need to get a job at EB again...
Do you have ANY FREAKING IDEA how much the replacement plans are going to cost on a PS3? And how easy it would be to talk somebody into one? And do you know the commission the salespeople get on the replacement plans?
Man I could buy myself 3 PS3's with the commissions I'd make hehe. Or way better yet, 9 Revolutions!
Phil Harrison has criticised Microsoft for planning to put two versions of the new Xbox 360 console on the market, claiming the decision will merely "create confusion" for consumers.

When we merged with gamestop they took all the commission oppertunities away. Lead to a lot of EB employees quiting, yesterday was my last day.

Never worked at any of those places, but that sure does sound pretty gay. A friend of mine use to work at a Radio Shack (And pretty much hated it when he got a new manager after 2yrs) and they were getting commission on everything. Then just around the time he quit they decided to go with $10/hr nationwide, or in certain locations with no commission. That was also they time they dropped Verizon so they got double screwed. Commission gave them quite a bit more than just the $10/hr (especially around Chrismas) so ya, sucks for some of them!
