Wow...the big list is amazing. There's a TON of stuff I'd buy on there, especially xbox. Too bad I'm damn near broke ATM. I think I may drop into one tonight I visited earlier to try and snag some titles I REALLY want but otherwise I'll probably wait until 4th of July...specially since some of them aren't ringing up at this price yet apparently.

This definately prevented staff from stashing away stock early. I also think when the sale does come in print it will be whatevers left. I think they (circuit city)knows what there doing. Clear out stock let the hardcore come out. They will take care of it.

The price 8.96 is a very good psychological price point. If you have money and are a gamer there is no way not to overspend.

Its not 10.00 it's not 9.00 throw in some name brand class a titles as bait The Next thing you know old Jed's a millionaire.
I am picking up games I would have never have gotten until a severe price drop or free. I suggest getting what you can get now. While stock is still good. It is worth taking the extra effort to drive around.

This was happiing at all the stores I went to.

What's really weird is I have seen NO ONE in the gaming department to every store I've been in. It defenitely doesn't seem like they mistakingly let the prcies drop early either...several stores I went to actually had the stuff repriced at 8.96 on the floor. The girl at the counter at one of the stores couldn't believe the price for the eyetoy thing and we were talking about all the great deals. I don't know how it went for you guys but out here in AZ, every single store the games rang up perfectly and no one in the store cared. I was suspecting someone would call management at one of the stores, but nope.

A manager type saw my list, came over and was very inquisitive. He asked if I was buying all these games for my rental store. "I'm too young to own my rental store" Then he said, "Well your family owns one and they sent you." I just stared at him and continued shopping.

Hmmm.. this IS interesting; though I wish I had seen it before I went out shopping today. I'll go check out our local CC here in Medford, OR. tomorrow. Our local CC rarely restocks anything more than 3 months old.. so I don't expect much. For once.. I've got money to burn though; and it's ONLY been two days.. so maybe I'll get lucky. In my ho-dink town you never know. Few people buy their games at CC because of their usually stock MSRP prices and lousy selection.. it could turn out to be a major haul.. we'll see.

Damn... Why can't we have clearance sales like that here in Australia? All we get here are these "massive reduced sales" over at EBGames, the sort where they sell used, scratched and loose DS games for $60...when they go for $70 brand new :roll:

When I finally went to check out with my 11 games, I noticed another FFIV sitting to the side of the register. I commented to the young girl cashier, "Did it not ring up $8.96 for that other lady?" (I had seen a lady pick it out while I was shopping, who had her own list). She replied, "Oh, I don't know why its sitting there.."

After she was through getting the games out of their cases, she went on lunch break and switched me to another cashier.

I had bought so many games at two locations, I didn't catch that they also pulled my Final Fantasy IV without telling me until now. Why would they do that??

Sometime after lunchtime yesterday, they marked FF4 back up to the normal 29.99 retail price. Apparently the clearance price on this game was error, as was the new Teikachi(sp?) DBZ game.

I usually don't bite on these sales, but there were enough titles that the MsNinja and I wanted to grab that we headed over. We wound up finding most of the games on the list, and almost everything on our modest wantlist. Got:

I went yesterday morning not expecting to find anything; no matter how early I find out about these sales they are always cleaned out by the time I get there. I had five games on my list--Burnout Revenge (X-Box), Sword of Mana, and Tales of Phantasia for me, and Advance Wars and We Love Katamari for my friends. They had all three games I wanted, and neither of the games my friends wanted. Needless to say, I was pleased. They actually had pretty much everything on the list, most of which I had to bite my lip not to buy; I'd just resell them, so I figured I'd leave them for the people who actually want them.
