Like many here, I collect for "all" systems but the one that currently got my special attention is:

jpn super famicom

Just a bottomless pit of good stuff. Plus the amazing box art and 16bit 2-D nostalgia is too irresistable.

I like the NES and Mega Drive...

NES because it was my first console.. so it's sort've being able to finally get all those games I always wanted...

And the mega drive just because its quite common, and easy to find complete games

I collect loose NES and Atari 2600 games just for something to do, and Genesis games because they look nice displayed.

My favorite thing to collect is PC and C64 boxed games. There is never a shortage of them when out searching, and they bring back so many memories for me.

2600 for me, specifically boxed Activision games. Gotta love that rainbow!

Eh, I guess i've got a few I can toss into my pile of never ending gaming.

First and foremost is the PlayStation, even though i've been a bad guy and not picked up much over the last year due to space issues and a lack of access to the bulk of my PS games (760+ titles) which are just a few thousand miles away from me, It still is and should be #1 on my list of stuff I hunt for.

Dreamcast: Is a close second since I do have all my DC stuff with me and i'm now down to less than 12 (with variants) needed titles.

DS: More and more keep comming out for the system and I keep getting more and more on what seems like a almost weekly basis. I'm not going for all the games, but the quirky ones and the good ones (so its 'almost' all the games LOL )

NGPC: Even though the basic US collection is complete, I still need a few US released systems and some aparent variant US Hardcase releases. A variant hunters collection is never done.

PS2/XB/Cube: All get some good love, but again since space is a premium they arn't purchased just because they are needed, but because they are wanted and are going to get good playtime.

Playstation 1: What can I say I can't resist picking up PS1 games. Especially now since alot of them have gotten to be so cheap.

NES : Its the system that really got me into collecting so its a logical choice for me.

DC : One of my favorite systems of all time, most likely because of all the quirky games that are on the system.

X360 : Yeah I know its a modern system, but there is something about it. Up to 33 games, not including the live arcade games.

Currently I don't have a "favorite" system to collect for - just a list of individual game purchases to make that take priority over other choices.

I do that because I really can't afford (never did) to buy everything under the sun. It must be enjoyable. Simply accumulating crap is not feasible because I have space limitations, and a dollar spent on crap is a dollar I won't have available when something amazing comes my way.
