I found a Tournament Arkanoid arcade cabinet at a dump, broken of course but in good cosmetic condition! I'm going to rip out the insides, put a mame computer in there and replace all the artwork. I don't know if the board works or not but I'm gonna sell it on ebay.

WOW, just wow, how lucky am I?
Another hell of a find.. Starwing Competition cartridge.. "in the wild... for the second time!
I was in town today, went and posted my eBay packets and then thought.. hmm, should I look in Gamestation or not..? Okay, I'll check..
I nearly shat myself when I saw the Starwing Competition cart in the glass case. Sweaty palmed I got a fiver out, picked Saturn Resident Evil (it was buy one get one free!) and got both games for the sum of £2 each.
Strangely enough its nearly a year to the day I got my last Starwing Competition cart, in the same shop. I made a thread here on Tuesday August 23rd 2005: http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69046&highlight=starwing+competition
What are the chances of this? Better chances of winning the lottery? Id really LOVE to know the story of how these two carts ended up being for sale in a games shop in a small town..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v695/chaoticjelly/finds/snes-swcomp-001.jpg
Not bad condition, Resident Evil for the Saturn was actually complete and in fantastic condition..!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v695/chaoticjelly/finds/snes-swcomp-002.jpg
As you can see, someones opened this with a knife or something.. look at the damage
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v695/chaoticjelly/finds/snes-swcomp-003.jpg
Its quite bad, but the last one I found had a lot of the label removed.. notice how they stuck the price sticker over the "not for resale" in the top right hand corner.. heh
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v695/chaoticjelly/finds/snes-swcomp-004.jpg
Looks like the previous owner managed to get inside, they've scraped one of the black blobs which contains the CIC chip.. how stupid..
I've tried it, and unfortunately it doesnt work.. the screen wobbles. I thought that the CIC chip must be damaged as someones scratched the black bit, so ive tried it in a modded SNES with the lockout chip disabled.. and it works!
I wonder if this is fixable? Could I wire up a CIC chip from a normal cart?
Its a shame..

Went by a random EB games that's roughly 40 miles from where I live because it was on the way back home in a mall and BAM saw a DS game on a shelf I had to pick up:
Nintendo DS:
Trauma+Center Under the Knife (New $30)
Then, finding in the small package on the stairs to my room marked from Play-Asia:
Gameboy Advanced:
Mario vs. Donkey Kong (New $15.70 shipped)
I am quite pleased and looked up some information on-line and find it to be the real deal, or a VERY good pirate. Either way it appears to be all good and is a ton of fun. Good stuff, I'll have to show it off to some local people and let them know they have some real McCoy goods.
And finally, what some may not find of their taste, wondering into Suncoast they actually had a deal for me! For $40 new they had:
The Street Fighter II Collection
Sure, it's $35 at Best Buy and all but I haven't seen it on shelves since forever when I didn't buy animes.
...Boy did I spend quite a lot recently. I think I'm going to be calming down on video game spending after Saturday due to school starting up and I need to save money for many other more imporant things. :(

Photobucket made them small, but here's a picture of what I grabbed today.
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c196/cyberfluxor/IM001738.jpg
Gamegear:
Pac-Attack (Loose w/case - $5)
Saturn:
Baku-Baku (Complete $9)
Sega-CD:
Stellar-Fire (Complete $4)
Playstation:
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (Sealed new $50)
A picture after I opened Lunar 2:
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c196/cyberfluxor/IM001739.jpg
I also grabbed those NES arcade sticks for $3 each, 5 Gamegear/4 Gameboy cases $0.25 each, the IBM keyboard for $2, and the CD rack for $2.
The keyboard (Which I thought was for the PS2 at first) and CD-rack were found at a thrift store I've never been to and they had some killer deals on other things I just didn't need right now but would get if I find again there.
About the Stellar-Fire, I use to play Stellar7 in DOS in the early 90's and have been wanting to pick up the Sega-CD Stellar game for awhile but finally found one that wasn't scratched to hell or incomplete.
Some good finds and interesting stuff, was trying out some new pawn shops. One I went into ended up having guns on the front display, I was hesitant to walk to the video game section, which by the way was suprisingly decent but nothing I was looking for. Another place just totally blew chunks and had bare walls with a few electronics and jewelry. A few other places were just loaded with everything you can think of and no games, but some decent over-priced electronics. I even ended up going to a place selling a Dell server! The only problem was the stick price of $700 because it was several years old and is easily weaker than a newer computer, BUT it would be nice to have as a basic game host server. :)
Enough long winded chatter, GG.
Quite an expensive week. My girlfriend lost her GBA Micro, so we had to get a new one. Was cheaper than I expected though ($77), did they lower the price in Europe?
Before that, I got myself a new wall...well, I painted a wall in my gaming room. It's probably not the best work in the world, but quite good if you know my capabilities as a painter :-)
And sorry for the crappy picture quality...

Oh yeah, I bought a new PS/2 oldschool keyboard to replace my current PS/2 oldschool keyboard, which needs a cleaning but since I can't open it... eh. The new keyboard is a classic clack-clack-clack type, and I just LOVE those things. :D

Ya, I own several of those, IBM and Packard Bell keyboards being the best. The clacking is nice, the better feature is no Windows key! Considering most every game in existance doesn't use the Windows key and it isn't worth a hoot on other operating systems it's an imporant feature for some. :)

But I need the Windows key. I use it a lot. Sure it's annoying but I still use it. Gah.
Instead of having a Windows key it has a weird key with a strange logo on it. Odd.
Anyway I went back to the flea market, found nothing of real interest except a bunch of Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I'm not into the game but I want to learn so I can kick my friends' asses, so I bought 'em.

Never seen it for the Game Gear, mainly due to living in the states, but it is a good game, it's developed by Treasure for godsakes! It does sound a bit steep though but being complete and nice like that, if you're enjoying it game on!
I just finally picked up Sonic Rush (DS) for $20 new. I figured I'd give it a whirl and it's already a smash hit in my book. :)
Woot got something to show for a change. ;)

Not bad for just stopping by the old workplace to trade in a game for my brother.

I went out and bought a DSlite today, for no particular reason. I was going to get the Sonic game and one of the 'Brain' titles, but they didn't have Sonic, so I just got New SMB instead. Pretty fun, and I like the DS now that it's my own in my hands =P I want to get a whole bunch of other games, but I spent all my money on the DS itself, so next Monday (when I get paid next) I'll get another game or two.

I made an awsome find at the Salvation Army, today:
A stack of seven Sega CD games. The also had the drive, but it looked really wonky, so I passed on that. But the games were only $1.99 each. Here's the rundown:
Midnight Raiders
Iron Helix
Space Ace
Ground Zero
Flashback
Flink
And the gem...

You know, after today, I definitely need to change my flea market hunting strategy.
Some context: Yesterday I went to the flea market to check up on that copier I mentioned over on this thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=91343), and decided to leave it. (Feel free to yell at me over there, thank you.) Anyway, I decided to take another look around and see if anyone brought anything new, or of something had surfaced. I went to see one vendor who specializes in selling stuff that gets returned and then trashed from Best Buy. The items are usually new or complete, it's just that they're returned and deemed "unsellable". Anyway, she had a 12-month XBox Live Premium Gold package (12 months, headset, some marketplace points, and a game) for $10. It appeared to be sealed, but I didn't want to buy it yet since I needed to know how much they sold for. ;p So she told me I could pick it up tomorrow (today). So I left and made a mental note to go get it after shipping stuff today.
Anyway, today I went and shipped my stuff, and then I went to the flea market. I thought it would be empty, but no - the place was FILLED WITH SELLERS setting up! It turns out that most of 'em dump their stuff on MONDAYS of all days, which means that there's lots of easy pickings! I only had $18 on me but I still managed to find a TON of good swag to keep and to sell. :D And here's what I found.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/Sales/battleformiddleearth1.jpg
The Lord of The Rings: Battle For Middle Earth (4 CDs in case with CD Key) - $2
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/Sales/circleofblood.jpg
Circle Of Blood (boxed in bad shape but complete, game is also known in Europe as Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, also released on GBA) - .50 cents!
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/Sales/sataraidcard.jpg
Serial ATA RAID card, sealed but box was a bit beat up - $3! The price on the box is $70!
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/Sales/d2dc.jpg
YES! D-2 FOR DREAMCAST! IT COST ME ONE FREAKING DOLLAR! It has no manual, and the back insert is missing (and replaced by the front cover of the manual...), not to mention the case is all gunky, but IT'S FREAKING D-2! (On that note, I've started to collect Dreamcast stuff again. Lord help me.)
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/Sales/torinspassage.jpg
Torin's Passage for Windows, sealed - $2. Hey, any sealed and complete Sierra games rock. :)
Oh and then there's this. I do believe my local flea markets are the shit.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/Sales/sdgundamx1.jpg
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/Sales/sdgundamx3.jpg
Super Gashapon World: SD Gundam X for the Super Famicom. Want to know how much it cost me? ONE DOLLAR. The guy who sold it to me had a few Genesis games and that Lord of the Rings game I mentioned above. The guy only saw the box and assumed it was a VHS tape with cartoon robots on the cover! Mweeheeheehee!
Nothing beats my local flea markets when it comes to weird shit. NOTHING. :D

I don't post here often, but I nabbed a few things in the last few days that I'm proud of.
I'm not nearly the collector that many people here are, but I am passionate about two things:
- Valkyrie Profile stuff
- RPG strategy guides
This weekend, I scored the Dragon Quest Monsters Prima guide and the Chrono Cross Bradygames guide for 4.98 each at a used bookstore.
Yesterday, I leapt on a listing from play-asia for this thing -
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-5s-49-en-15-valkyrie%2Bprofile%2Blimited-70-icj.html
169.99 plus shipping, but so worth it... it was listed as out of stock about an hour later, so I guess they only had one or two in stock. I remember Princess-Isabela trying to sell one on here a whlie back... I forget how much the ebay auction went for, but it was over $300.

On my way to campus to purchase my parking pass and a few things at the bookstore not available on-line I stopped by a few places and picked some stuff up.
Atari 2600:
Adventure [Sears] (L $1) Great condition
Nintendo 64:
Knife Edge NoseGunner
Nuclear Strike 64
BattleTanx ($1)
South Park
Star Wars Rogue Squadron
Army Men Sarge's Hereos
Command & Conquer
Aerofighters Assault
Duke Nukem: Zero Hour
->All but BattleTanx were $2 and everything loose.
Genesis:
Battletoads Double Dragon ($4) Box/Cart
Sega Master System:
Global Defense (C $2)
Dreamcast:
Sonic Adventure 2disc version with SA2 demo (C $2)
CD Soundtracks:
Gundam W [Operation 3]
Gundam W [Operation S]
-> $3 each in great condition and complete. JP imports :)
Finally, $10 for 2 4-way 260 watt Kenwoods in great condition, just need some dusting off. I tested them and they mainly carry bass, bad ass bass at that due to the 15" subwoofers I'm very tempted to use in a car or a sub port on the PC surround sound for extra punch. :D
I'd say I had some decent finds today, very pleased.

I'm not getting it. What's so special about a prototype pad? Does it have a better handling somehow, feel more fluid, I'm lost. I will take a guess and say it's mainly for the collecting.

Pretty much only for collecting.
To the person who got the pad: Does it work?
