Okay, I finally have the option of getting an arcade cabinet... it's a Super Contra with no board or marqee, I think it'd be perfect for a tate MAME cabinet. I've never owned an arcade cab outside my "home proplay arcade" (which isn't a "real" arcade cabinet), and don't know anything about arcade guts, monitors, etc.
I do know that I want to put a modded Xbox in it. (I looove modded Xboxes) Can I somehow connect one to an arcade monitor? The cabinet's in rather rough condition, and I don't know what condition the monitor's in. If it's no good, I'd rather run out and buy a TV and throw it in there than mess with getting another monitor. (I know all about the ill effects of turning a TV on it's side, I'll take my chances.) And certainly I can connect an Xbox to that, but is there anything for the TV to sit on? Don't most arcade monitors secured to the cabinet with their own brackets?
I know it's possible to get a PC working with an arcade monitor, but I've gotta go with the Xbox.
Here's the cabinet-
