Right now, I'm at 688 NES games.

There's a few people here with complete sets.

I generally find NES games in large clumps at a time, like 5-15+ all at once. It doesn't happen too often though so the rate at which I gain games for the system really turns out to be not that quick. I'm hovering around 115 games with only 2 of them CIB. So, there's just so many of them out there I don't think I'll achive a complete collection especially a CIB collection. It would be nice however to at least get a good chunk of the great titles it has under my belt and ready to be played.

Someday I'd like to get them all but that probably wont happen, mostly or financial reasons and partially for limited time to hunt as well. I'm in the mid 300s right now. I'm too lazy to pull up the actual figure right now.

I've probably only got around 70 or so now. I sold off probably about 50 of them a while back. I'm kind of regretting it, but roms take up so much less room in a small NYC apartment than cartridges. Plus, I needed space for my DC games.

I've kept all of the games that I enjoyed playing, so I'm not regretting the sell-off too much. I still accumulate new games when I'm bumming around home (Ohio) and hitting up flea markets and garage sales.

I've also kept all of my Wisdom Tree games. It was too much of an endeavor to find all of those weird little things to just let go of them.

Games I own: 772
Games for a complete set: 772 (well, that is debatable)

As for the number of unlicensed games, I'm not entirely sure. I guess I could count all the unlicensed carts in my collection, but a lot of them are in boxes and it's more difficult that way.

669, and about 600 of them are CIB.

Of course I plan on completing the library some day.

I'm the small guy in this topic: 130 games.

Buy it all? Heck, I might sell it all. :P
Just kinda lost my interest in the system along the way. Meant to pick up a toaster for easy 99% use, but have yet to.

That's it. 59 games. Obviously, I'm going for a whole boxed black box set, but other than that, I only keep the games I like to play.

I have a complete licensed set, and am only missing the three adult titles for a total set. I have 800+ carts total, some of those are pirates and some are label variants. I have about 500 of my games boxed, including Flinstones Suprise at Dino Peak, and Bubble Bobble part II a sealed Cheatahmen II among several boxed complete unlicensed games I currently have my Nes collection in alphabetical order on my "Nintendo Wall" in my room of doom.

I'm at 206 individual NES titles, with only 2 of them being unlicensed (R.B.I. Baseball and Fantasy Zone). Counting doubles, and in 3 cases, triples, I'm at around 230.

57 of my games are boxed/complete.

I can see myself surpassing 300 easily. I don't plan on buying every single game made for the system, because I'm more of a gamer over a collector. However, my gaming tastes aren't very discriminating, so I tend to like a lot of the games...

And I do plan on picking up more unlicensed titles. I'm interested in most of Tengens output, but other then that, all the other unlicensed titles can stay out (except maybe some of the Sachen games, Dunken Fu actually looks semi-enjoyable).

Game Collector says I have 90, plus a few I haven't added yet.

No reason to go for a complete set, as I only keep what i'd play.

My NES collection recently passed my Genesis collection for most games. I'm at 525 NES with at least a dozen more in the mail. Not many boxes; I figured I could upgrade later, but it's a rather expensive endeavour, espeacially with ebay as my only real source...

What is the actual breakdown anyways:
1. How many licensed games?
2. How many unlicensed games?
3. How many imports (not famicom)?
4. Any estimates on how many known pirate carts?
5. How many are listed in the dp guide. I do not think it's near 800....is it...?

Now I just need to play some of them...

Trebuken

I have 85 different NES games. Plus quite a few doubles and a dozen or so CIBs. It would be neat to have a complete collection, but I just don't see it happening. I just buy cheap games that look interesting, and I buy all my games in the wild.

I guess I have the record for least games collected.

I have all of 24 NES games. 25 if you count my Legend of Zelda: Adventures of the Link. It has a dead battery. I am no solderer or i would replace the battery.

But, I am in no terrible rush to collect.

And all me games are up for sale as well.

Just some are over priced because I don't want to sell them. :D

Also, I am collecting games for pretty much all my systems at one time so it will be a slow process at best.

At last count 593 NES games, not including dups

The count has been going up very slow as of late because I have only been adding games found in the wild.

About 450 at the moment, both licensed and unlicensed. Out of these, most are cart only -- maybe 50 or so are CIB, and my only sealed games are Scheherazade and all of the Aladdin games. I'd like to get a complete set, but I'll probably settle for everything but the Panesians, Myriad and Stadium Events. I don't know if I'm willing to drop the 2k+ that all of those would cost me... ;)

I have 101, and only two of those are complete in box (Castlevania III and Uninvited). The only NES game I'm actively trying to buy at the moment (and probably for the rest of my life) is Little Samson, but there are others I'd pick up and keep if I got them cheap, but would not go out of my way to look for them (most notably Dragon Warrior 2-4 and all six Mega Man games).

I'm at 62 NES titles (25 of which were free :D ). I don't want the complete library. I will stop once my wantl ist is complete which should be about 150 games. I am only getting new additions from garage sales or large lots on eBay. I really don't want to spend a lot of money on this system. Don't get me wrong. I love the NES but I'm going to be a cheapass on this system.

Somewhere around 120. I haven't counted in a long time, actually. About 10 of my games have boxes and manuals and a few more have just boxes. I have like 20 or so unlicensed games, all common ones like Wisdom Tree and codemasters games. My collection is common stuff, too. My rarest game according to DP is a complete King Neptune's Adventure, which is a six.

I don't need the complete library, but there are others I would like to have, including all the Dragon Warrior games.

410 or so. I haven't bought an actual nes cart in quite some time now, I've pretty much given up. At one point I was pretty ecstatic about going for a full set, but I've pretty much given up for now. It's all good, as I have all the good games, which is probably one of the reasons I'm having a hard time getting that last 362 titles. That, and included in that number is the real bigwigs like SE, CM2 myriad, and panesians.

Maybe one day, though.

Trebuken
09-12-2006, 08:51 AM
I thought I had stalled at 300 or so but I started looking on ebay one day, and saw how cheap they could be had if you bought them in large quantities with combined shipping (some of my favorite ebay words). I spent about $500 over a month and a half and probably brought in close to 200 carts (180 probably). Mostly common and licensed titles but not all. Many of the auctions ended for $.25 or less because they common or undesirable titles.

Of course the boxes and manuals sell for as much as the carts, separately.

I forgot to mention in my original post that a lot of the reason I'm not going for a complete NES set is because the expensive titles aren't particularly fun titles. For example, I have a lot of the mid-range rare NES games (Snow Brothers, Bonk's Adventure, etc.) that are fun to play, but have no real desire to get a Stadium Events because it's no fun and costs a whole lot. On the other hand, I'd be much more inclined to get complete sets of either Sega CD or Saturn games, because I already have all of the hardest to find and expensive ones out of the way. Pretty much all of the expensive games on those systems are great, so I plunked down the money and bought them. I mean, you almost might as well get a complete Sega CD set when you already have Keio Flying Squadron, Snatcher, and all of the Working Designs games, and you might as well get a complete Saturn collection if you already have Panzer Dragoon Saga and, again, all of the Working Designs games.

714, a little over 100 of those are complete. Going for all 772 (loose or boxed). Not counting the Sachen or NWC carts though.

I don't buy NES games like I used to, mainly because they are a lot harder to find in the wild now. Really don't like to get them off Ebay either, but looks like I have no choice now. I made it a point to pick up the rare stuff when I first started collecting, the only tough one I still need is Stadium Events, so getting the rest shouldn't be too hard.

Those ebay deals come in handy, bought a ton of loose carts for pennies on the dollar back in the day plus at the usual gamestops and flea markets/garage sales. Currently have 869 nes game (765 are the official games with the remaning games being a mix of Sachen, HES and PAL games that were never released in the USA) Only around 350 are complete with box with remaining just being with manuals. Anyone know any place to find or get the remaining boxes?

whoisKeel
09-16-2006, 01:12 AM
127 NES games. Of about 35 of those I am missing the manuals. Not really into collecting the boxes, just the manuals (and maps, etc.). I could stand to get rid of a few games, but there are a few I need to get as well. Idealy, I'd be sitting at about 135-140 games. I'm more about the perfect collection for ME rather than complete sets. If there's a game in my collection that I don't care for, I see it as a flaw in my collection and I get rid of it.

Ed Oscuro
09-16-2006, 06:44 PM
Somewhere around 40-41, with maybe a quarter of those in like-new boxes (they're either loose or like that). Funny thing is that I don't play the majority of the loose ones, so I should think about selling some off (unfortunately these are games like Baseball or Tengen's R.B.I., no real value there). Great system, still don't have many titles I'd like but not much comes to mind (all I can think of is CVII and MagMax for some reason, and the original Contra which I need for obvious reasons).

As far as collecting philosophy goes, I agree with Sirhan Sirhan (and will probably be something like that when I get a chance to work on the collection more). I've had more luck getting great condition NES games than I have SNES titles.

If I include all my duplicates, I have over 1900 NES games (assuming my old database is acurate). Most of my games are loose.

I collect variations including very subtle ones that most people dont care about (like the seals).

In my collection:
125 unlicensed, pirate, or foreign carts (includes variations, does not include Canadian or PAL games)

69 different US 5-screw carts (75 if I include variations)

74 Canadian versions (includes variations)

12 PAL games

488 licensed US 3 screw games (includes variations) for the letters A to L. I only got that far in entering them in my new database.

The only licensed game I am missing is stadium events. I am missing 2 others, but they are on their way to me in the mail.

The only unlicensed games I am missing are:
Myriad 6 in 1
Cheetahmen 2
Sunday Funday
3 panesians
Almost all the sachens (I only have Huge Insect)

I also dont have NWC or any test carts

There are still a lot of variations I dont have though :)

I currently have 326 US NES games (official and unlicensed). About 90% of the games are boxed and most have manuals. I would like to have a complete set one day but now I prefer to get unlicensed games from around the world like HES, Sachen, Milmar... and pirate stuff.

I also have :
- 89 PAL and non USA unlicensed games
- 46 legit or unlicensed famicom games
- 100+ famicom/NES pirate single carts
- 31 pirate multicarts (NES and famicom)
- 10 famicombox games

I have 757 games, 499 of them are complete. I would love to get the entire set, but I probably won't as I am not willing to shell out the big bucks for some of the major ones. So I will proably just get close to an entire set, which is fine by me.

I don't really collect variants, but I am sure with all the dups that I have I have plenty. Guess I should go through them and pull out the ones that I do have, since I have them anyway!

No pics available, but I am trying to get something put up soon that I can display them on. Wall system like stores have to display their DVDs and tapes. Picked up a bunch of the wire shelving when a store went out of business last year.

I need to do a recount again sometime, but I'm definitely above 500 NTSC games, add to that variants, pal-exclusives, and pirates, and I'm somewhere between 500-600. I do plan on getting a complete NTSC set sometime in the near future, but first I'm going to try and get a complete CIB/NIB set of all NES accessories released worldwide.

Came across this while searching for another thread and thought I'd post an update.

I currently have 34, and there's another 20-30 games I'd probably buy.

Things have definitely changed there - I now own 212 games (the most games I own for any system), and you can see a list of what I have here (http://www.freewebs.com/jkwh/neslist.html). The rarest are two R6's - Qix (which used to be Kamino's) and TMNT Tournament Fighters. I also have most of the popular titles and most of what I wanted. However, I do have a "major want" list with around 10 games on it, and there's several more I wouldn't pass up on the cheap.

My NES setup:
Top Loader
One dogbone controller
Two original controllers
One NES Max controller
Two Zappers (one grey, one orange)

Licensed games: 202
Unlicensed games: 10 (bee 52, Bible Adventures, Exodus, Fantasy Zone, Klax, Quattro Sports, R.B.I. Baseball, Rolling Thunder, Spiritual Warfare, Super Sprint)

I've got about 450. I originally set out to get them all but have recently realized that that makes no sense (to me). I was getting them like crazy for a few years, but in the past couple I've probably only picked up 30 or so. I'm just not into it anymore. I don't have any plans to sell any right now, because it's possible that I'll change my mind again, but I wouldn't be surprised if I trim that 450 down to 60 or so within the next few years.

Wow nice thread...
This is where it all started for me! I have been collecting NES for about 10 years now - I am around 525 different titles. I have some unliscensed games and I still regret selling my sealed Cheetahmen II...

I always find it interesting to hear people say that they oonly widh to collect the games they want to play... How do you know which games you want to play if you never played them all? That was how it started for me - I was buying games that i wanted to play or because they where cheap enough I was willing to try them and all of a sudden I found that the games i never heard of could be a lot of fun to play!!! Now I collect everything! Not really into the whole CIB thing except for genbesis or CD based games. And I don't really discriminate between the liscensed or unliscensed titles - they all have equal opprutunity for me.

I'm a definite oddball here, as I only have about 15. As a kid, I never owned either an NES or SNES as I was a 2600 kid, who then got out of gaming after the crash thus missing the whole NES thing. In college I got a Genesis, preferring it to the SNES, so I don't have the same nostalgia for the nintendo stuff as other things. I am just starting to collect the NES and SNES games now and have only about 3 SNES games but not a console to play them on!

Up to 722 unique carts now (about 100 complete, the rest are loose).

around 200 not including dupes (and i do have ALOT of dupes)

only a few are unlicensed maybe 10-15 or so tengen, wisdom tree and camerica carts.

i would love to get them all some day (NWC not withstanding, though i do have the repro of it :) ) right now the biggest thing in my way is the fact that i forget what i have and rebuy stuff too often so i need to get a pda or something to eliminate this problem as i dont really buy nes games in the wild because im afraid of getting more dupes.

I have 147, plus a couple dupes, and 10 Famicom games. I only have a handful of complete US releases, but I do have loose manuals for quite a few more. I don't have any particular drive to collect a complete library, but it would definitely be nice if it magically fell into my lap. :P I always keep a look out for new titles I could add to my collection, though, especially considering I'm missing loads of quality games (Dragon Warrior 2-4, Contra, all the Mega Man games, there's a bunch of good stuff I still don't own). My collecting has really slowed down these last few years, though. I bet I haven't gotten more than 20 carts in the last 5 years. My collection was really booming years ago back when I had a good source of games at a local independent game store, but they closed down some time ago. Then I started regularly loading up on cheap carts at GameStop, but we all know what happened there. I miss those days of picking out the cheapest games with the stupidest covers I could find, and then laughing at what ridiculous stuff I ended up with when I brought them home and popped them in. I found a lot of fun games that way too, though. For some reason, I've never been into buying NES games online, unlike with other systems, so I usually only add to my collection when I come across something in the wild. Oddly enough, I haven't been coming across NES stuff that often anymore.

I have a very small NES penis compared to most others here but my official count is... 55

3 are CIB and about half of the rest have sleeves with manuals. It was the 1st video game system I ever got as a kid... Which I sold about 15 years ago at a garage sale- and have reacquired the stuff starting about 8 years ago. I usually buy games if I find them in the wild (unless it's a sports game), instead of ebaying and paying lots more for some of them. Also I don't have any doubles.

I have 35 NES games (that includes 2 boxed, 1 complete, 2 with manuals, and a bootleg 192-in-1 cart). I had over 150 at some point last year but sold off a ton of them. I may try to recollect some but most of the ones I sold I wasn't all that interested in playing. I may try to get another copy of Faxanadu, though.

I have a grand total of 28 NES games:
- 2 dupes (both gold cart zelda I and II)
- 5 CIB games (SMB3, CVIII, Zelda, Gauntlet (Tengen), Dragon Warrior)
- 21 cart + sleeve (most of these also have their respective manuals)

that's it for me. I really should stop chiseling down my game libraries so much...

I'll never collect them all. Never. I tend to only keep things that hold some sort of attachment to myself. Because of that, my collection tends to be quite small, even if I completely love every single game I own.

I probably own.. 40 NES games? Some are currently packed away in boxes so I cannot say for certain.
