well, I'm 20 years old.
I remember the day i (i, meaning my mom and i) bought my copy of teenage mutant ninja turtles at this toy store, child world- in Hyannis, Mass. they Handed me a promotional video with all sorts of toys and video game clips compiled into one. The video even had a host!
I grew older, still held onto it, but then was lost in a BIG move around the teenage years.
I was wondering if any other MA kids remember this or had a similar experience at child world. I remember the vhs featured a commercial for double dragon and some clips for sports related games.

Shit, no edit button...
Wikipedia's entry into Child World actually mentions the VHS tape, and its obscurity, so you're not alone.

Sadly that funco turned into gamestop and moved to another place in the mall. The westgate is still crappy compared to the newer malls around here, but better than it was. I think all the store fronts are now occupied at least and you don't really have to worry about being knifed there anymore

here in Detroit it was known as Childrens Palace. I remember many of the stores having the castle towers on them. When they closed ( :( ) Best Buy moved in and now that building is vacant except for Halloween.
I bought my first four Turbo Grafx games there. I still have the receipts. Can you beleive I paid $59.99 for Neutopia! I loved the store well mainly because they had Turbo games. My mom used to go to Pace(sams club) next door and I would go to Childrens Palace and spend my allowance on 1 game. Ah those were the days of my youth.
I suppose this topic is really for the folks in MA, but I'd like to chime in and say we had a single Child World in Kenner, LA (New Orleans suburb). At the time, there were three large toy store competitors -- Child Word/Children's Palace, Toy's R Us (Toy's B We), and Lionel Playworld.
For my videogame fixes back in retro times (80s), Lionel Playworld was the best. TRU didn't show up until the late 1980s/early 1990s in Metairie, LA (another suburb). I can still remember seeing all the shiny Imagic boxes in PlayWorld. I even bought an Okimate 10 printer there for my C=64.
