Looks good so far, I did notice in the User CP when I tried to edit my sig, or edit my avatar it came up with a "You have been banned forever" type page.

Also, please tell me there's going to be a way to modify the color scheme soon - the colors are wreaking havoc on my eyes. I would suggest fixing the blue links on the red backgrounds - it's hard to read.

Waa! We're back!

Whereas phpBB navigated itself around my overflowing PM inbox and deleted old messages as necessary, this board is refusing to let me send anything until I delete stuff manually. It seems someone else (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93679) already noticed this.

(And is there no equivalent of "View your posts" anymore?)

Also, the icons in the Private Message Inbox seem to be reversed (an unread icon for a read message, and vice versa).

Fixed the BBCode issues. If you want the :-/ emoticon, you must type : - / instead of :/ now.

Fixed the img tag.

Fixed the avatar settings (I think)

Set signature permissions (1000 characters with BBCode, 500 without, 4 lines, and a max of 4 images).

If you want to view your posts, select your control panel and view subscribed posts. The default settings are 'subscribe without notifying.' This should place your posts in that subscription place, but not email you when you get a reply. You can change these settings in your control panel if you would like.

When the board came back last week or whenever, I had sent some PM's out to people (can't remember who), and I had some replies back, indicated as 2 new messages. Well, when I logged on today, the only new message I had in my inbox was from 3 weeks ago, and it was one that I had already read. Is there anyway to backtrack and figure out who PM'ed me?

And, not to pile on, but when you can get to it I'd like an option for an alternative color scheme as well. Something a little less aggressive would be nice. (I can see it now - the only alternative offered will be a soft, pastel, lavender and pink option, and it will be 'credited' to me....)

I'm happy DP's back. A few things though. This red is very harsh, I dunno if it's the same red as the style last week's but for some reason I liked that red; this one just hurts my eyes.

I might be the only one, but I loved last week's brief look. I have to admit preferring that look over this one or the old one, but those are just my 2 cents.

Now to bigger matters at hand:

You are still limited to 4 images per post. Is this permanent, and if so, why such the strict low count? 4 is too low... at least it should be 10.

When browsing to the last page (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=31&page=128&order=desc) of threads in the Modern Gaming forum, there are two threads started on 1.1.1970, but that might have been on the old forums as well.

I agree about the colours, NEVER use fully saturated colours like that ;) Also, is it possible to change the layout of the postings? I really prefer the standard one with the nickname, avatar and additional information on the left, not everything on a horizontal bar.

When I tried to change the title of a thread, you can't see the new title while browsing the forums. The old title is still displayed. The new title only appears after you click on the thread.

That's smaller than any of the other boards and Blogs I'm on and I really don't want to resize all my avatars to these smaller sizes (especially the animated avatars). Even if you only increase it to 100X100 that would be a big help.

If you could change that, it would be really appreciated.

Yeah, really. That'd help a ton. I tried for about 30 minutes to edit down my avatar in photoshop to fit the 80x80 size and you could barely see it because it's so small. 125x125 (or whatever it was) would be soooo much better. Or what would be best is an auto re-size option like i've seen on a few boards so we don't even have to mess with it.


Noticed an error with my PM's. Whenever I read a message and hit the back button on my browser, I get a "Invalid Private Message specified" message. Says "If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator".

I always used the subred skin on the old forum, and I dont see much of a difference between the red on this one and the old one... I'm guessing most everyone hatin' on the red used a theme other than subred on the old boards?

And I just wanted to shoot out a quick THANKS for putting all this time and effort into rebuilding our home... FINALLY I can get back to wasting my life instead of doing anything useful, that being productive is totally overrated!

And I know its early, but do you have any mods in store for us down the road? Maybe a feedback system or something else?

But seriously, I'm having an odd problem with the "hot" threads when I mark a forum as read. Some of the icons don't switch to the blue flame icon, even though the forum is marked as read.

Can we at least change the color of the side part (With the avatar and user info) and the color of Quote boxes to a darker red at least? It is too bright. It's basically a color scheme you do not want to use.

We're working on it, but it takes time and we have real lives too. Our first priority should be making sure everything works, then we can work on making it all nice and perfectly pretty and start tweeking with options.

We could have left the board down while we ironed all this stuff out, but we thought you would appreciate having it open and would "pardon our dust" so to speak.

I re-added the VBulletin default scheme for those that feel white on black is too harsh.

Select the 'VB Blue' option from the style selector in your profile.

Noted. Getting the icons over period was a long and painful process of trial and error. I know it isn't worth much, but I'm happy I got it as close as I did ^^;

They are there, you just need to select 'view threads from the beginning' on the topic page, or adjust your preference in your options.

The current default only displays threads for the current month.

Dimensions have been expanded, but not the file size. Ideally, we would like to keep the loading as small as possible as to not overload the server and cause that whole crashing thing.

This is also why there is a limit on images/sig images.

PM boxes have been adjusted to accomodate 200 pms per user. This may need to be adjusted later if it causes the database to balloon in size.

I just dl'ed this little utility tonight called SuperGIF and it worked like a charm on my animated avatar! Reduced it from 20.7 to 8.33kb in the blink of an eye, and it looks the same to me. 29 bucks is WAY too much for such a utility.. but the demo version works as registered.. but you can only do one at a time.. no batches.. but who cares? Are you using quick reply? Do you have JavaScript enabled?

VB utilizes a technology called AJAX, which allows you to update a page without refreshing it. A manual refresh will immediately fix any oddities, and this is likely the cause of your funkiness.

actually, for the most part i think DP crashing was a blessing. there were years of backlog and a lot of locked / pointless threads that were probably just eating up bandwidth and polluting the internet. i was kind of sad to be without dp for a few months and i do miss my kefka and chrono trigger icons in the signature area. the new look is much more professional, though. i applaud the hard work of the webmaster(s) rebuilding DP and revitializing it with a better layout.

I am having trouble PMing people. I have over 200 PM messages stored, but I tried to delete the folder holding all of them to clear space. I now have 0 stored , but it still will not let me PM. What gives?
