I've had a PSP since around May of last year, and I've never had any problems with it at all. I played it for a while on Friday night, charged it up, and unplugged it. Didn't touch it on Saturday. This morning, I got a PSP game, so I grabbed the system and switched it on. The green light came up, but nothing happened. No noise, no vibrations, no picture. So I thought maybe it was a battery thing...but when I tried to shut the thing off, it wouldn't. I tried plugging it back in, just in case, and the orange light flashed for a second, and it went back to green. Still no noise or reactions of any kind. So that's where I'm at; what appears to be a dead PSP, green power light blaring.

So my question is, what the hell happened? Is my PSP fried? Is there anything that I can do about it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

To get the obvious out of the way, does it work with the AC adapter still plugged in?

Also, mine occasionaly takes a few seconds to boot. Are you sure you waited long enough?

Unfortunately, it's just as dead plugged in. I held down the switch for several seconds, and the green light shut off and stayed off. I turned it back on, and the green light came on, but no booting up. Held the switch down for a few seconds again, and the light went off, and that's where I've left it.

Yeah, sounds like it's fried. Do you get any sound when you boot?

Take out the battery and put it back in. This sometimes works.
