But it reminded me of these sites.
http://www.hitmaker.co.jp/site/download_pcm.html - some paper consoles
http://www.gotorion.com/orion/singles3.php?t1=Nintendo%20Paper%20Models&f1=miscfunny/papercraft.txt - Nintendo paper models.
I hope these are along the same lines as the original post.

Mmm, nice. I tried to make one of those paper Master Systems once, but then I found out that I wasn't very craft oriented. :embarrassed:

Wasn't as a result of /. actually... they've been having a couple of DNS problems recently. Hopefully should be sorted now. Site works fine for me.

I thought I'd revive this topic because I've finally gotten around to putting a couple of these puppies together. My craft skills ain't all that either, to be honest, but it sure is fun to put some unlikely party in front of the "machines" once I have a finished product. LOL

You've got a few cabinets (like Q-bert) that don't appear on the page. Are they still around somewhere? Thanks for the link; I haven't seen this before, and I've been wondering what to do with my Jesus and Shakespeare action figures.

I had to hodgepodge together the Centipede, Frogger and Q*bert from the Defender cabinet (did Donkey Kong as well, until I saw that wayoftherodent did more (and did 'em better). If anyone wants the images for those three cabs, just pm me.

Just a few tips after ruining a few cabinets with my lack of craftiness.
Be sure to hold down shift when you resize the pics after dragging them into Word to keep the proportions. D'oh!
Use a sharpie to darken in the area around the screen on the inside of the cabs.
Thanks everybody for the intro to my new hobby :)

Yep, I've had my Pacman paper cab for many months, right next to my monitor. I definitely didn't put it together quite right, though. I had to take a marker to it, but it looks right now.

Nope. It's a GREAT idea though. It would be especially cool if there were mini system boxes (ROB release of NES, Channel F, original Game Boy etc.) Sure, a lot of people have these boxes anyway, but mini versions would be really cool.

I'll fall back on my previous post. Go to Best Buy or Circuit City and have them test out their printers using those images. Say you want to compair those printouts with the ones you have at home on your older printer. Nearly everytime you can pawn around those crazy floor sales people into stuff. 8-)

Thanks for any information you can provide.
As far as tools go, I just use a nice pair of scissors, though you may want to pick up an x-acto knife for interior sections that may need to be cut away.
I like Avery brand Permanent Glue Stic (washable, acid-free/photo-safe) which by far works the best out of the few glue sticks I've tried on the paper I use. You will also need a permanent black marker to shade in the exposed white areas.
And as for the paper, I use HP Everyday Inkjet Semi-Gloss Photo Paper (100 pack for $15.99 at Best Buy and worth every last cent). It's real easy to cut and fold and gives you a nice glossy surface that looks killer when all put together.
You can purchase individual sheets of transparent paper (along with the glue stick) at Kinkos (the ink rubs off unless they use their printers, though you can do what I did and just fold the sheet over the printed on side and glue it down).
