What are you buying in the next two weeks now that the new release drought is over?

Well, there are a ton of quality releases dropping in the next 2 weeks. In fact, there are so many quality titles that I'm having a hard time deciding what to actually buy. Virtua Fighter 5? Sonic & the Secret Rings? Crackdown? MLB 2k7? God of War 2? I'm sure I'm missing a few here. What--if anything--are you going to pick up? :hmm:

I'm going to try and stick with 2 games if possible. God of War 2 is must for me. So, as of right now I'm deciding between Virtua Fighter and MLB 2k7. Sonic is tempting me yet again--even with his terrible 360 and PS3 title. It would be nice if things got spaced out a little better. My fat wallet is shrinking ;)

I played the demos for both. NBA Street seemed good. That formula has been fun since NBA Jam. But Def Jam Icon just seemed like stereotype after stereotype. That combined with the whacked out controls was enough to turn me off.

Also...you do realize that would be two EA purhcases in one week right? Did you hear that the FDA put out a warning last week that has to go on the back of all EA boxes? It reads:

"Caution. Purchase of two or more EA produced games may be seriously hazardous to your gaming enjoyment. Also has been shown to cause cancer in labratory South Korean MMO addicts." :-D

I was considering getting Virtua Fighter 5 for PS3 but I did just recently buy wii play (along with about $100 worth of classic games) so I think I need to save some cash. Most likely I will get bored and go out to the store and get VF5 just cuz there aint much out for PS3...but thats a changin' in the next few months.

I live in Canada so I don't have to worry about the FDA :)
Also as I noted I hope to get Icon at a good price, I know someone who works for EA so I'm hoping to get it a a REAL GOOD price:D

Picking up Sonic as soon as it comes in, Raiden III and (hopefully) Red Star in the coming weeks as they trickle out. Never played the first God of War, and the new one looks just as interesting to me. -_- Might want to look at Crackdown at some point, still disappointed it's not a remake of the old Sega game though...

Also Triggerheart Exelica should be shipping out in a few days from Play-Asia. :)

I find the whole concept of this thread amusing. It assumes that you have every game you'll ever want except for future releases. Unless that's true (Yeah, I've got every SNES, NES 3DO, Genesis, PS1, PS2, Xbox, etc. release ever made) then there's never really a reason to wait to buy something. There's always something out there that would interest most people.

As far as new upcoming releases, though, I'm looking to getting Major League Baseball 2K7 for the DS (unless I hear it sucks) and Radio Allergy for the GameCube.

Far as future releases go I'm buying NBA Street and Def Jam, and Guitar Hero II on the 360. Probably going to buy Super Paper Mario so I can further justify my Wii purchase, Card Fighters DS, and I'm really thinking of buying Hokuto no Ken even though I don't currently own a JPS2.

God of War II looks like a sure buy for me. Didn't know when the release date was on it. I knew it was soon though cause our Sony Rep gave me a display box for it, heh.

I was also kind of skeptical about another sonic game seeing as how they usually go over...is the Wii one supposed to be good? Guess I'll go read up on it somewhere.

There definitely is a little burst of good games coming right now, and in the next couple weeks. My most wanted game is Super Paper Mario for Wii, but April 9th is a little farther out than what this topic is talking about, and I'm not sure I really think it's coming April 9th anyways. If it really does come April 9th, that will be awesome. I think that will be the first game to truly justify my purchase of a Wii. But, considering April 9th isn't in this window, here are my most wanted games:


1. Motorstorm - PS3 - I had the import version, but I decided to sell it because I knew the USA version was getting closer to being released. I absolutely loved the import, fucking incredible if you ask me, and supposedly the USA version is even better. I'm buying this the day it is released. Hopefully it's still on track for March 6th.

2. Major League Baseball 2K7 - Xbox 360 - I've heard alot of good things about this game. Supposedly it's way better than last years version. I will try to rent this ASAP, and if it really blows me away, then I might have to snap it up.

3. Virtua Fighter 5 - PS3 - I'm not huge on fighting games, but considering the PS3 has very little to play on it ATM, I'm going to have to at least rent this game and see how it is.

4. Sonic & the Secret Rings - Wii - Definitely want to rent this game and check it out. This could be a good Wii game to hold me over till Super Paper Mario comes out. I've heard the graphics are actually pretty decent. Hopefully the gameplay is decent too.

5. Crackdown - Xbox 360 - I was tempted to buy this, partly for the Halo 3 invite, but I just can't justify it, when I'm much more interested in Motorstorm and MLB 2K7. I'm still tempted, and if I saw it on sale for $49.99 maybe I would do it. Otherwise I would like to rent it at some point.

6. F1 - PS3 - Never been a big fan of formula 1 type racing games, but I actually liked the demo on the PS3 network, and would like to give this game a rent.

7. SSX Blur - Wii - Not a game I would likely purchase, but I definitely want to rent it and check it out.
