I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather play a PS3 than read this thread any further. Also,

That is a great idea. I am enjoying Virtua Fighter 5 with my High Grade Arcade stick that I got today. Very fun! Well back to VF5.

It looks like the party is over in Europe as PS3 sales have dropped 82 percent since their launch day successes.

Oh, and the Wii is also outselling the PS3 2 - 1 in Japan

Now i'll just wait for someone to try explain when this isn't a disappointment.

When i read the 82% drop article earlier today the first thing i thought of was "typical media". The way the media puts this out makes it looks like its horrible news. These "PS3 is doomed!" articles are getting kinda old. I say wait atleast a year, then we can start talking about total failure or not ;) Almost all consoles sell worse the 2nd week. The Wii is an exception because of the limited supply.

Then, 82% drop, that leaves 18%, how much is that? That is 29700. 29700 consoles in the 2nd week, taking in concideration that "every" enthusiast bought it the first week and the rather high price, 29700 consoles is not a bad number. That is nearly 5000, 4950 to be exact, machines each day (not couting Sunday). But of course, media doesnt mention this, negative things sells you know.

Didn't someone here say the Charttrack info is not true?

Well, neither is that info (Kotaku & gi.biz), end of story, hahaha.

Here are some statements from the same company (Chart Track) that came with the 82% news:

UK stats company Chart-Track has said news of the PS3's sales in UK dropping by over 80 percent in its second week are just meaningless. They are bemused as to how anyone can jump to conclusions after two weeks of a systems launch and say there are a number of issues as to why this huge sales drop happened.

Unfortunately, Chart-Track said it would not release comparable figures for Xbox 360 or Wii sales, which would add some context to the figures. Figures for previous week two console launches are unreliable due to the usual shortages problem.

Bloch added, “In almost all console launch scenarios, there has been no stock in a second week on sale. Sony, for a number of reasons, had extra stock available. So there really aren’t many comparable precedents for week two sales. Judging a console based on nine days on sale is just crazy. It doesn’t make any sense.”
