I've run into a strange problem with my TriStar. N64 and SNES games run perfectly, w/o any problems, but when I load an NES game the controller doesn't function correctly.

For example, after loading Super C, none of the buttons function other than A. However, upon pressing A I am taken to the Sound Test menu. To get to this menu you would normally have to press A + B + Start. So, it appears that the system thinks that B + Start are being held down.

I had just been playing Super C earlier in the day and had no controller issues.

Any ideas as to how this could be fixed or what the problem is?

I'd open up the Tristar and see if any of the wires going to the Famiclone board are shorted or severed.

I checked it out, but everything looks normal. I did notice that the NES wires are attached to the board w/ glue, the rest are soldered. I suppose it could be that something has just come loose a little, but there's nothing noticeable.
