    Default Best console bowling game?

What do you guys think is the best console bowling game? The only one that even sticks out in my mind is the Intellivision bowling game that I spent a ton of time playing while growing up. Who can forget those lovely sound effects? I don't remember being blown away by any other home bowling games, which ones should I check out?

Not console, but the Simpson's Bowling arcade game is pretty fun.

You should try bowling, and not at a bowling alley......
-"Are you talking out of turn?"
"No, I believe we are all talking together."
-"I normally don't do interviews with women unless i fornicate with them................(long pause)......................so you shouldn't talk anymore..........unless you wanna....you know..."
    -Mike Tyson

"I may like fornicating more than other people, it's just who I am. I sacrifice most of my life, can I at least get laid? You know what I mean? I been robbed most of my money, can I atleast get a blow job?"

I'd have to go with Ten Pin Alley or Brunswick Circuit Pro Bowling for the Playstation. I played a ton of both of these games. Both games had a good control scheme and nice sound effects.

I agree with Nick. PSX Ten Pin Alley was flat out playable, fun and amazingly addicting. My bro and I used to play that and compete all the time. I think I bowled an average of 215-ish or so. I created "Large Marge" from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, lol. She was my girl! One of the characters seriously looked like Large Marge. I like how you could change the skin color of the bowlers too. Very customizable and loads o' fun.

BTW, the Saturn version was pretty damn inferior. The graphics took a HUGE hit, and the ball physics was actually different. Pissed me off, lol

I have to agree with other posts. Ten Pin Alley for PSX is by far the best. It's well made and it's fun.

Ten Pin was great ... I still play it on my PS cab once in a while.

I think League Bowling [ Neo Geo ] is probably a little more fun though, espicially for multiple people at one time.

    The best I've played:

    Bowling (2600)
Brunswick World Tournament of Champions (SNES)
    Strike Force Bowling (PS2/GCN/Xbox)
    Wii Sports Bowling (Wii, obviously)

I've also heard good things about Super Bowling (SNES) and Animaniacs Ten Pin Alley (PSX), but haven't had a chance to try them out.

Come to think of it, are there any decent bowling games on the Game Boy, GBC, and/or GBA?

Why are we having this discussion. Wii Sports Bowling is the end all of Bowling games.

I did like Championship Bowling for the NES, and Ten Pin Alley for the PS.
However Ten Pin Alley for the GBA was horrible.

2600 Bowling is a personal favorite. In the last few months I've also become a fan of a Genesis/Megadrive import title called Boogie Woogie Bowling. It's pretty cool as well.

Most of my faves have already been named...

Wii Sports Bowling, Ten Pin Alley, Super Monkey Ball Bowling (sucker for challenge mode), Brunswick for the PSX (I preferred #2, thought the pin physics were better).

Championship Bowling - an XBox / PS2 budget game that came out in 2006. It isn't perfect by any means, but dang it if I didn't have a lot of fun with this one.

There has not been a good Game Boy bowling game in my opinion. The best may be Romstar World Bowling, but it's still not very good. I would settle for a port of Championship Bowling from the Gen, or Super Bowling from the SNES. Maybe someday.

And I don't really like the Animaniacs Ten Pin Alley...especially when you're bowling a 300, and the Godpigeons take your last ball, and pull it from the center of the lane right into the gutter. Just that happening once was enough for me to shelve the game.

Tekken Bowl (mini-game on Tekken Tag Tournament) is really fun - I've probably played it more than the main game.

I own the GBA version. It's a good way to kill a few minutes, and I'll probably wind up playing a round or two every Christmas. But it doesn't really have any teeth beyond that.

Alright, I'm taking Animaniacs off of my interest list - that's pretty lame. I'll have to check out Romstar World Bowling if I can track it down - even if it's not very good, I'm curious about it now.

Mentioning anything other that Wii Sports Bowling is only showing that you actually remember those games' titles. When it came out with the Wii, Nintendo pretty much said "I'll be King of the bowling games, now, thank you (until someone makes a better one for the Wii)."

Wii Sports is definitely the most realistic and interactive bowling video game.

I also enjoyed Bowling for the Atari 2600.
