    Default Stone Protectors for Genesis

I have a prototype of the Genesis version and was just wondering if the game has ever been dumped. I think it may have only gotten an SNES release, though I may be wrong. All in all, I think it's virtually the same game as the one on the SNES. Same cheap troll doll marketing gimmick, at least.

According to some websites, the ROM was released, there are even some reviews of it, but I couldn't find it. Possibly it was a private dump, or it's just hard to find it.

If you're willing to sell it, see PM.

Don't you think it's a little uncouth to pester someone about buying their prototype when they bring it up here without indicating it was up for sale? You're a class act poindexter!

That's why I said 'if'. I could have maybe worded it differently, but I really don't see any problems with that. There is no damage done, so why the hostility?

haha. I'm willing to bet that he took weeks designing that costume so he could make his own personal "Market Man" avatar.

Oh the intertubes, why do you continually try to make the biggest nerds feel cooler, even when they obviously aren't?

Kids, remember to always say please and thank you! Especially when you're begging for rare prototypes!

Market man, and his always-hung-to-the-side-kick, are my new heroes!

I'm away from my gaming goodies for the extended weekend, but when I return next week I'll post some shots of the cart and the game in action.

I have one of these also, and it is indeed unreleased in Genesis format.

    So it is unreleased.

Is there a dump for the game available for public use? It breaks my heart to think that the players out there are missing out on another troll game marketing disaster.

I would buy my own dumping tool and then put up the game for random download. Personally there is many games out there that is not released yet.

However to make it gain value you could sell it on a website for vast amounts of money. I would shave a couple of billions for the children.

Get ready for more Stone Protectors than you can handle. There is actually quite a lot of smaller changes in the game, too many to name (but I'll do my best).

Instead of Kemco Presents (as seen on the SNES version), it's Vic Tokai Inc.

The copyright at the bottom of the title screen is slightly different.

-Intro movie breaks down the text differently.
-Some general things: the background at the beginning of a level is no scrolling but static, and gone are the character poses at the end of each stage.
-First stage begins with enemy facing wrong way and the addition of a little birdie.
-On the mine stage, lantern lights flicker and the mice in the background are moved around. Also, enemies riding in mine carts are not the same. When you hit the boss, he freezes and turns blue.
-On the third stage, only one enemy falls down at a time to fight (SNES has up to three fighting together) until the little lava monsters come at ya - then it's two at a time in the Genesis version, three together in the SNES. (So Genesis can't handle the mighty Stone Protectors?) Also, the pit where you fight the boss is not the same shape.
-The beach stage has a NEW SNAIL! There's also a snake in one of the barrels (and not a mouse). These developers were too ambitious! Characters no longer leave their footprints in the sand.
-Dogs in bazaar are arranged in different areas.
-There's a different background during the final boss fight.
-The game rushes through the ending and goes straight to a looping credits roll. Some new people in the credits (they must have designed the new snail).
