Default Frog Feast now for sale on SNES

I talked to the owner of Frog Feast today and it is now available for SNES. Available here. This is a brand new homebrew for the SNES.

    I ordered mine today.

Are their any videos for this game anywhere?
Whenever someone brings Frog Feast up, I always go and look at pictures. I then get turned off from the game as the screens make the game look very, very boring.

So, will videos cure this feeling of boredom, or is Frog Feast a game that a person really shouldn't be paying $25 for?

This is the only one that I know of, but I would like to see more.

Super Noah's Ark will no longer have the distinction as the only unliscensed game for the Super Nintendo.

Techincally Super Noah's Ark will still be the only unliscenced game as Frog Feast is after the lifespan of the snes and such considered a homebrew.

Btw, anyone know if this has a box and/or manual?

Not bad. I've played a bunch of variations of this game, mostly on the "old" systems, and it isn't an all-time favorite of mine but it'd be cool to own it for my Sega CD or the CD-i.

You could download the MVS or CPS-1 versions from the site and try playing it yourself in an emulator. I think he also released a demo of the Genesis version at some point, but I don't see it anywhere on the page.

I doubt you'll want the game any more after playing it, though. It's not a good game really. I'm not entirely sure why he picked Frog Feast as the game used in this otherwise cool project to produce a homebrew game for pretty much every hardware imaginable. It may be some sort of post-modern irony thing or he may have just made a bad choice, I don't know. I suppose it's possible that he actually loves Frog Feast and wants to expose the whole world to it, but I find that somehwat hard to believe.

Why bother sell it if you can play it on a arcade emulator. Why bother at all especially for a mini game.

    NES is not old.

It didn't make sense to me when this game was released for Sega CD, and this SNES release makes even less sense. It's not horrible gameplay-wise, but it's just a homebrew port of a homebrew port of an Intellivision game. Maybe it was super easy to acquire the rights to, or something.

Is this game like frogs n flies or something?
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?

Yeah, that's one title or variation of it. The SNES version we see linked doesn't have the best graphics in the world and having played this same type of game before, the gameplay is repetitive. Still, SNES collectors need to seriously consider purchasing it so as to support future homebrew efforts. I hope he does well with this.

    Exactly.

I've heard a lot of people talk about making their own game for the SNES and the fact of the matter is that it is no where near as easy to make one as it is on a system like the Vectrex. Of course, the Vectrex is probubly one of the most homebrew friendly systems with assymblers, code books, tutorials, that thing that converts images into code, and all the original games being public domain. Not to mention the fact that blank carts are easily accessible.

Considering Beggar Prince, which included a box and manual, cost $40, I'd seriously doubt it. My guess is it's a cannibalized FIFA/Madden/somethingsuch cart with an inkjet label and maybe printed instructions. Would be interesting to have some photos from someone who's bought and recieved it, though!

Yeah, I was thinking about buying one, I am pretty sure the sega CD one comes in a dvd box with art. I would hate to get a genesis or Snes copy and have a beat up cart with a crappy looking label
