Hmmmm. Difficult choice. They are two different games play wise. It all depends on your personal choice. Kung Fu is fun and can get furious with all the bad guys coming at you. However it's fairly shallow in the realm of beat-em-ups
when it comes to moves and the cheapness of the computer. On the other hand, Karate Champ is one on one battle in the classic sense where patience and self control will usually be your path to victory.

Personally I like Kung Fu even with the cheese. It's fast when you get to higher levels and can get hectic. Karate Champ, while cool in its own way, never hooked me as it was rather slow. Also I didn't get a chance to play it in the arcades much. I only saw it in one arcade near me and that was at my workplace and they usually pulled it for newer games during the tourist season. The NES version was "eh".

I went to France in 1985, and Karate Champ was the hot new game out. It had crowds around it all the time. Me and my buddy had already been playing it for months, so we had a jump on all the French novices. We stomped all their high scores, filled the entire list with the initials USA, and crushed all challengers. It was sweet. Even sweeter to look back on now.
