I got mine a while ago as well. Haven't had much time to use it yet but from the time I have spent playing with it, it seems to work with all of the games I tried and is a pretty cool item especially if you love the NES.

Gah, how much longer till these come back?
Estimated date is August 13
Wow I didnt realize they made these for the NES and SNES. I currently have one that is the same thing only for a PS2 controller. This reminds me of a question I have.....
no rgb support for the powerpak
man my dreams shattered, well good thing i have an unmodded nes
here is a funny picture of space harrier.
the 3 bars in the top left are your guy the others are bushes.
all games have this look.
i am going to send an email to the creator of the powerpak see if he has any ideas.

I ordered some 200 ohm pots to put in line with the data points on the powerpak.
My plan is to remove all the components from a game genie and use it as a pass through. Then solder the 200 ohm pots on to the game genie.
i do not feel like messing with/messing up the powerpak its self.
Does any company sell straight pass though connectors that would work with a nes. That would be great then i could skip messing with the game genie.
Does anyone know if bunnyboy/ the creator of the powerpak is still alive?
He still has not replied to my email.
I have not asked too much from him. I see this as being very rude if he is choosing not to write back.
Hey Acem77,
No, there is no pass-through connector other than the Game Genie for NES. Oh, and the Euro-only Pro Action Replay. Well, the Game Action Replay too, but that doesn't count. If there were a real one, I'd have used my FDS on my NES a lot more than on my FC.
Keep us updated to any progress. As I mentioned to you in a PM, I have a Vs. Duck Hunt PPU now and am dying to get the mod done, but I don't trust my abilities with these things because I always screw them up. If you change your mind and need some dough, I'd still love for you to do the mod for me.
Anyone else here able to do a RGB NES mod?

As a heads up, these seem to be in stock again. If you haven't picked one of these up, it's quite a nice thing to have for the Nintendo.
I got mine yesterday, loaded it with a few games and was very happy to see them working. It's cool to play Final Fantasy III (J) in English on my NES, for example.
I'm pretty certain I could have found all of the NES games I'm keen on playing for less than the cost of the PowerPak+CF Bundle. However, since, for reasons of insanity, I'm going slog through every videogame released in the US (in chronological order) the PowerPak will enable me to do that with NES games on the original hardware without having to spend time traking down titles like Sesame Street 123 (not that it isn't a great letter game). Now, I can spend my time doing what I really enjoy...making a big spread sheet of all NES games sorted by release date and marking off whether I'll be able to play them on the PowerPak or with a genuine cart. Then I just need to figure out which carts I have to get.
That being said, I know that RetroZone has posted a handy mapper table of bad, good, buggy, planned and unused mappers. Is there a list anywhere of what games use which mappers?
OR, and this is the easier question, is there a definitive list of games which don't work yet on the PowerPak?
By reputation, I think I can safely assume Castlevania III is on there. (though I am aware the nature of the PowerPak doesn't gurrantee that it always will be. Yay, FPGA!)
What others?
Chronogamer. Every game. Chronologically.

I have forgotten to feed my fish...
BTW, guys, Acem77 figured out how to get the PowerPak working on an RGB NES. He figured it out when he modded mine. It has to do with the revision number of the NES and a component on the board.

I recently acquired a PowerPak. FANTASTIC product! I have a PowerPak Lite coming to me in the mail that I don't need. I don't even have a CopyNES. If anyone is interested, PM me and we'll work out a deal.
I have a PowerPak for sale -- comes with a 512MB CF card, the black sleeve, and the USB CF reader. Mint and working condition. I'm selling it for $160 (OBO) plus shipping. Drop me a PM or email if you're interested.
A quick question, something ive always wondered...
Is it possible to rework part of the Famicom Disk System roms to be accepted on the Powerpak? Or is a part of the FDS hardware required?

Does anyone here know the difference between the sold-out PowerPak 512MB Bundle and the still-available PowerPak Lite with the USB CopyNES on retrousb.com, other than how much space they hold?
