    Default ps2/xBOX $10 grab bags

I went to this little used CD/Record/DVD/game shop, and they had this small bin of grab bags, and several of them were 5 random PS2 (disk only) games for $10. I must have picked one of the bags up and put it back about 7 times before leaving the store without a grab bag (cuz i found a Symphony of the Night and Pocket Fighter for $20 total so the extra 10 was lookin' not too good to spend).

Well here it is a week later and I'm thinking about it. I could kinda see through a couple of the bags an one had a hockey game and the other an NFL game. I know for $10 I'm bound to get 1 or 2 sports games out of the 5. Would anybody here take a chance paying $10 for 5 PS2 games where you know for sure one of them may be a madden 04 or something?

Are they boxed games or just loose?

If it were for a system I didn't have many games for, or one I was just starting to get into. Sure. Of course, I'm not the kind to care too much about boxes and things like that. And I enjoy sports games every once in a while.

If you already have a lot of games, or are really picky as to what you play. your $10 is probably better used to go towards specific titles you may want.

5 games for $10 is well worth it IMO even without boxes or instructions.

wish we had deals like that in my area

I wouldn't do it. Four out of the five at least would be sports games. Sports titles sell well in the year that they're released, and become essentially worthless the year after. Look at sports games for the Genesis in thrift stores if you don't believe that. Casual gamers will keep a few titles, but toss out an old sports game once a new version hits the shelves. They're disposable entertainment, and the first to end up traded in. And they're without cases, which is another trait of casual sports gamers. Therefore, logically, you're most likely to end up with nearly all sports games. So it's pretty much not worth it if you don't like sports titles.

I'd be more worried about the condition of the games than what the games actually are. It could be stuff that was returned by a customer as non-working then simply resurfaced after the fact or it might be games that weren't in good enough condition to sell on their own, disc only or not.

I suppose on paper it isn't a great deal because it is probably stuff that sells for 99 cents to $2 at Gamestop so you could end up breaking even or "losing a little money" with a bag. You never know until you "grab" one or two, though, pardon the pun. I'm sure you won't find a Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto or Resident Evil game but you can never tell what lesser known HTF games may slip through the cracks because an employee has no clue.

    This is an excellent statement.

I'd say, though, that they're most likely dumping their garbage games in those bags-so be wary, and try not to be disappointed if you get a $10 bag of trash.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

yeah I guess it kinda is a big chance of getting all sports. If I could get 2 semi fun non sports games in the bag, I think I'd be happy. I got friends who would not mind at all if I gave them free sports games. So I guess either way somebody will win and it is only $10 so it may just be worth it to get rid of the curiosity. Just for the record, they were either disk only or thrown in with the instructions (depending on the bag).
