Smile How I got my Gameboy

The year was 1999 I was 7 years old, my bro had just convinced my parents to let him buy a gameboy color. Jealous, my sister used up her baby sitting money to buy one. She quickly got bored with it, so I asked her to have it. She said for 40$ she would give it to me.
I earned about 1$ a week( talk about child abuse), so I did some extra chores and about 8 months later (seemed like forever) I finally got enough cash. Now I Daniel Jameson, would be the owner of a game system. I held the precious item in my hand, ready to play it like I was a rabid dog sitting in front of a pile of steak.
I hit the power switch, I see the magnificent gameboy logo appear before my eyes, and there was this evil black bar at the bottom. Thats when I realized, I didnt have a game to play! My sister had sold all her games on ebay.
I felt like crap and for an hour I just stared at my gameboy, like it was a murderer of my spirit. I realized I would have to do even more work, after this 8 month ordeal I had just accomplished. I was thinking, of waiting, all those months, earning enough to buy a game for this devil of a system, this wasn't a toy, this was hell!
It was at that moment my mom came in, she was so impressed with my hard work that she was gonna take me to Toys R Us to get any game of my choice. In that instant my spirit was restored stronger than ever before, and that night as I popped Pokemon Blue in my gameboy, I knew what it felt like to live the American dream!

    Pretty good story.

EDITED - That's what I get for skimming down the end. Thanks, rustblackend.

    Excellent story.

As charming as this story may be, it's still unfortunately beyond the scope of the classic guide.

I think it was 100 or 109$ if I remember, so I was ripping my sister off but doing a whole lot of work.
