Default new forum for collectors of factory sealed games

    Hello everybody

First of all, this thread has the permission of digitalpress

Due to the raising number of collectors of factory sealed games, some friends and I thought that it would be time to open up a forum for this guys. The main language is german, but we have also an english section. I think most of the users in this forum can understand and talk english

    http://forum.sealedgameheaven.com

The registration is also very easy and in english...I think you don't have any problems with it. Otherwise send me a PM.

Hope to see some of you guys there. You can also post your sealed collection in the designated section (Sony, Sega, Nintendo, Microsoft, others e.g. Atari, PCE...)

The forum is also for guys who are interested in this type of collecting games

    See you here or there

Great website, only gripe I have is with the Marketplace being 2 languages. Would it be possible to order the forums like they do at neo-geo.com? I find that to geat setup. Other then that, good site!

the forum is online since sunday (2 days) and we have to manage everything.
We will find the best solution for everybody
I will open up a thread in the english sector where we can discuss such problems.

posting the sealed collection isn't a big problem....but you are right concerning the marketplace.

    We'll find a solution

you don't have to be rich...but maybe you will get it after you join

it's for collectors.....the same collectors who will collect stamps for their album and not for letters

But if Gamer wants to join our board: Welcome

if you play games and sell them after you finished them....you are a Gamer
if you play games and collect them....you are a Gamer and Collector
if you collect sealed games.....you are a Collector only

    Hope that answer your question.
I'm not rich and I like to stare rather at good looking women than to my sealed collection on the shelfes.

    I love this wise man
    He must be very smart.

Another point of view: Someday the time will come when videogames-museums will open to show the people how it was 50 years ago.
And if the museum has a lot of sealed rare games of well known series (e.g. Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy....) it would be a kind of an attraction.

Think about it....in 50 years....you are old, maybe 75 years old.....Final Fantasy XXIV is on the market....going into a museum and look at a sealed copy of FF VII...you remember the old times with a smile on your face, a hidden tear in your left eye and you told your grandson: "Look....these were my times when I was in your age. I bought such a copy at Walmart. Oh yes, I remember the hang-tab and the pulling-strip on the top. It looks so new and shiny..."

And you go with a smile and you thank god that somebody out there did not open the game to keep it "virgin" for the rest of your life....

I had a almost complete "set" of sealed jap-shooters to DC, but I needed money and sold them (just kept the Treasure CD-games, and trying to collect a sealed "extra" copy of all of them). So I totally understand the "appeal" in collecting them. But donīt you think the museum (and your grandson:-) want to check out the manuals, art work etc? Sealed games are not, imo, even so fun to looking at. But completed with a opened copy with all the papers I agree it can be nice with some sealed rarities in the museum:-)

BTW, I donīt think the institutions that want to preserve games want them sealed either. Donīt know exactly way (maybe someone else do?), but I think it can be something harmful with the shrink wrap. As here:

    http://news.com.com/1606-2_3-6174194.html

I just love when he randomly pick up the ultra rare (or at least extremly expencive I think) Ultima game from the box and donīt really seems to know what it is;-).

you are right. People also wanna see the manual and maybe the game disc and the map and stuff like that...for sure.

But you can also put a sealed one next to an open one
And to see a brand new game which is...50 years old (or older) is or can be also very attractive. Just the imagination that there is something which creates videogame-history and it's still new...I would say that's nice

    Edit: Yes, nice link
The Ultima scene is funny....most of them are PC-games which he has, right?

Sorry but sealed games have absolutely no more "real" value than a 100% complete, mint copy.

I don't mind anyone collecting what they want, but as for a museum, I would rather have an open mint copy because of the fact that the box is not behind a layer of plastic.

More power to you though, there are some crazy OCD peops in this world!
