2 Old PC Games-Fantasy General and the Original Civilization. Worth Anything?

Are these 2 games worth anything? They both come in the boxes complete with manuals. Civilization is on four 3 1/2 inch floppys. I really know nothing about PC games and they were free so I picked them up.

Unfortunally, old PC games don't tend to demand prices like old console games.

I'm not sure of the prices, but there's a good chance that they aren't worth that much.

Very not true. If anything many old PC games are more valuable than comparable console titles.

I've sold lots of old big box PC games over the past 4-5 years for decent amounts. My biggest one though was an original King's Quest Collection for $150. A lot of the old SSI/Talonsoft war strategy sims go for good money too. And then there's newer stuff like NASCAR 2003 that can easily fetch $100 for a sealed copy. Some of the old Ultima games can go for big bucks too.

Most people don't think old PC games are worth much, so they pass them up in the thrifts whenever they see them. That's fine for me since that's where I pick up about 100% of the PC games I sell on Ebay.

I suspect you could get at least $10 bucks for Fantasy General (SSI collectors) but Civilization, while a popular game, is fairly common I believe.

That King's Quest collection probably went down in price after Vivendi rereleased the first six games on a Windows "compatible" (read: bundle with DOSBox) package.

Oh yeah, without a doubt. Same goes for the Police and Space Quest collections too. My point was that there are some PC games that sell for a lot of money (or did, at one point).

And I agree with your point. I mostly sell that kinda stuff on eBay, heh heh.
