That looks really great. You know, Halo 3 is probably going to make me go buy a 360, just like Halo 2 made me go buy an Xbox. Problem is, I don't really give a crap about any other game on the Xbox. I hope the 360 doesn't go down the same way.

Those Twos ruled, and so did Resident Evil 2. Definitely the pinnacle of the series up until 4.

Bit too early for an "official" Halo 3 thread....but anyways.

I like playing Halo.

Wanna know why? Gameplaywise, it's as good or as bad as many other top-ranked FPS....Halo was very good and Halo 2 sure could have been a damned sight better (bad "ending", poor offline, glitched graphics and sound and incredibly confusing maps....come to think of it, why DOESN'T Bungie incorporate a map system into Halo). THE reason that I play Halo games is for the incredible music and atmosphere....nothing else. Killing aliens is just something to do while I'm "there" enjoying the rest of it.

Half Life and Halo offer two totally different FPS game experiences. CounterStrike and Halo 2 online are two totally different experiences.

I get it (Halo fan) I understand that you PC FPS guys were "I was Country Before country was cool" kinda Idea. I understand your upset because something you precive to be better (regardless if it is or is not) isn't getting as much as the "Mass Market" apple as you would like.

But God Damnit quit being an asshat and assuming everyone hasn't heard the same freaking argument over and over again.

I like it plain and simple and no matter how much you bitch and whine I will always like it and so will others.

and honestly I find playing Halo 2 online a better experiance due to the fact I don't get booted from some crappy server because the mod thinks I'm cheating or insulted because I'm a "NooB" at least on live I can mute your ass.

well I disagree PC gaming is still one of the best experiences depending on the types of game, but in a sense Halo and Halflife are two toally differnet experiences but if you look at the sequels for Half-Life 2 which is an amazing game and Halo 2 which is crap compared to looking at Halo 1 which was good compared to Half-Life 1 which is decent but not that great

so I guess it's preference but I still will say that Halo 2 is one of the most dissapointing games and I don't have much faith Halo 3 will be any better.

Well, gameplay-wise......I hope that Bungie doesn't put all of it's efforts into the Live component of Halo 3. They'd have to have been living under a rock these last years in order to not be aware that people were pissed with the offline portion. I doubt that a company like Bungie would purposely make the same mistake twice.

I also don't want to see poorly synced cutscenes with character models that look like they're made of shiny plasticene either. Squaresoft and Namco did better CG on the PSX. Those unforgivably bad Halo 2 cutscenes ruined the experience. If they can't do them inhouse, then job them out to someone who can.

I don't use it anymore because I enjoy my 50 inch LCD... feels more "epic" I guess..

Controls are for sure more accurate, however... I am used to the XboX controller now, more then ever... just all about learning what you got. Plus you can play it with a mouse, at least the original XboX, not sure about 360 yet.

The trailer looked simply wonderful... and you can clearly see it's NOT CG, but ingame engine (unlike everything shown at Sony's conference - like 8 Days, with the disappearing HUD and stupidly unplayable cam angles which tried to disguise itself as in game footage).

Halo 3 looks the business....unfortunately Bungie have stated that Halo 3 will be the last Halo game they make, as it's intended to be a trilogy (just like Marathon before it was).

The only question now is, when in 2007 is it going to be released? Is it going to be a November launch like the other 2 games were?

Simply not true. It depends on the individual. After 5 years of playing console FPS's, I'm MUCH more accurate than I would be using a mouse/keyboard.

They actually said Halo 3 will be the last in this story arc. They've written some 500 years of Halo universe history that they can work with, after all :P

I was having that discussion today actually. I'm a Mouse/Keyboarder for my FPS dollar, but I have no doubt that plenty of players have been using the analog nubs for long enough to compete with me on their turf.

I'd still say, if you have two absolute experts in the genre with equal skill sets, the Keyboard/Mouser would win in most showdowns just for the ability to turn faster. But outside of that, the gap has narrowed significantly.
