    Don't think that's a gaming problem.

But, anyways, the CD laser is dead. This happens with DVD drives all the time. (As they have two lasers, each with the propper wavelength)

It could also be a firmware issue.

I know this has been a common problem on alot of Lite-On drives lately.

Could also be the result of having a program like a later version of DaemonTools.

First thing I'd try would be the firmware upgrade, although if nothing else changed I'd assume the CD laser's dead.

Is it an Asus or Pioneer?

First thing I'd try is buy a friggin new burner. A good new Pioneer is like 29 bucks or something

I have a Lite-On with the same problem, seems to be no solution though
