I was road-tripping across america last year and I found a sweet retro-game store in San Fransico it was right next to a TUX shoe store. Lemme go on superpages and find out the name of the street.

I cant find the shoe store on superpages. But it was a pawn shop three doors down from the Tux's shoe store and they had MUCHO old games.

I found over 100 sealed nes and sms games in that darn city! Theres deals to be had, you just have to search with a fine tooth comb.

Just moved home to Mass, but will be back to reclaim the rest when I go back

in terms of finding old stuff, check out Thrift Town on 19th and mission.
    They get new stuff everyday.

Community thrift is good too (valencia and 16thish)

    old game stores...hmm...

What neighborhood was the shoe store in?

There's no classic game stores here. I've been living here my entire life, and there has never been one ever, and probably never will be (profit margins are too small, and rent is way too obscene).

Only way you're gonna find stuff is thrifting. If you can get a car, or you wanna hop on Caltrain, head on down to Burlingame and check out Network Video, they specialize in Imports and stock some older games (by "older" I mean down to 16-bit).

Good luck, and enjoy your stay in the city.

Fuzzball: The one on Van Ness/Mission? Shit sux. Goodwill around here generally sucks for thrifting. You're better off hitting the indie thrift stores.

If you're that desparate, I know of a place in Antioch called 4Jays that has a nice selection (down to the Odyssey). Their consoles tend to be expensive, but game prices are some of the better ones I've seen in stores.

Of course, that would mean an hour drive. It's on W 4th Street.

I hope you hit the Oriental Trading Company in Chinatown... they had alot of dusty old games for the GBA and several Sony systems... closest thing that I found to a classic game store there last summer, and well worth the visit... I found Muppet Pinball Mayhem for the GBA there, factory sealed for only $24!

Where is that, exactly? I don't recall ever seeing that place. I tried Googling, but I didn't get anything.

it's on the left side of California street as you're walking into Chinatown from the main gate... when you get to where the lanterns hang over the street... I may not be remembering the name of it correctly though... try the Far East Trading Company... it's one of the biggest import shops in all of Chinatown...
