Any interest in a 60 gig PS3 (still has the emotion engine/chip for games no emulation crap!) system is new and still factory sealed in box. Looking for 550+shipping

Nate - the 20GB/60GB USA PS3s have the PS2 emotion engine chipset built-in for backwards compatibility. The chipset handles PS2 & PS1 like they're running on an actual PS2. To save manufacturing costs, the newer 80GB PS3 systems have removed the chipset and provide backwards compatibility through software emulation. Emulation is currently around 70% compatibility with older titles. If you ever want to play PS2 & PS1 games on the PS3, better off getting a 60GB model before they're gone. The hard drive is very easy to swap when larger drives become cheap.
But, like everyone has said, the 60GB model is $499 in stores and still available everywhere. You can also get 5 free Blu-Ray movies from a mail-in offer when you buy a new PS3. Not sure when that expires.
Whatever happened with this system? Still for sale and if so, new price?
