Default is there a majeco version of the gamegear?

I am trying to finish a list and collection of every US console/handheld from last century. I was told that there is a version of the gamegear made by majesco. I remember majescos run into the sega lines, but did they actually produce a gamegear unit?
And if so, how do I distinguish it from the "regular" gamegear units?
    just checking

Yes, there is a Majesco version of the Game Gear. You can tell the Majesco GG apart by looking at the 3 ovals under the Game Gear logo on the screen. On the Sega GGs, the ovals will be colored, while they're gray on the Majesco.

Yeah, Majesco had one in the late 1990's or early 2000's, I think. The two differences I remember were in the color of the Game Gear logo on the unit and the color of the Start button. Otherwise it looked fairly similar. The Majesco Game Gear also did not allow for use of the TV Tuner.

The plastic on the Majesco Gamegear also feels all wrong. Cheaper somehow, it's also blacker than the original. The speaker is also cheaper and has a "tin-ny" quality to it.

I have to give Majesco kudos for breathing some life into the Game Gear (for those who didn't know, they also rereleased some GG games).

However, avoid the Majesco GG unless you want it for collection reasons.

Here are a couple of pictures, it's funny it looks like the box shows a SEGA version, not the majestic version:
