I just recently got a saturn and wanted to know some of the best games that are common/inexpensive. I am not ready to invest bookoo bucks here.

A couple good, fairly common ones I can think of are Mystaria and Mega Man X4.
I like Scud, The Hoarde, and Earthworm Jim 2 (the latter is about $15, but the other two can be had for maybe $7).
Feedback thread here
What, no mention of Sega Rally?
Welcome to the Saturn fold! As a longtime collector for the Saturn, I can tell you that you'll find a lot of gems that none of your friedns will have ever heard of. I'll keep it domestic and exclusive.
Panzer Dragoon 1.
Sega Rally
Nights
World Series Baseball 98
Worldwide Soccer 98
Any Of the AM2 Fighters.
Virtua Cop
Baku Baku
Powerslave (Not sure on cost, Quake and Duke could substitute.)
Dark Savior
Those are cheap, and great games!
Virtua Fighter 2 is common as dirt, as are Fighting Vipers and Last Bronx... all are excellent fighters. Someone mentioned Sega Rally already. AMOK is both good and cheap. Croc shows some impressive 3D. Nights is a given. Manx TT is a great racer. I love Sky Target but your results may vary. All of the World Series Baseball games are excellent.
Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~
Since no one mentioned Decathlete I'll mention it.
Aaron
Great question and thanks for posting it!
Panzer Dragoon
Panzer Dragoon Zwei (I consider it common)
Nights
Virtua Fighter 2
Fighters Megamix
Clockwork Knight
Virtua Cop
Virtua Cop 2
Sega Rally Championship
Fighting Vipers (Hey, I liked it!)
thanks guys for all the responses. The Saturn is modded with all cards needed to run the imports. I have a card that is 4 meg i think. I dont know what it does. The guy says it will run all american and Japanese games.
Don't fear mentioning imports.
I just want good titles that arn't that expensive.

lots of great cheap shmups if you like shmups. Darius gaiden, thunderforce, lots! Lots of expensive ones to though.
Fighting vipers and fighters megamix (get the latter for sure!) are indeed great.
Some pretty good RPGs to that are fairly common/cheap (as in about the price of a new game today) anything working designs pretty much is good
The panzer dragoon series of course! But only the first two are cheap/common
Exactly! Sega Rally is the bomb. Maybe my favorite Saturn game period. Also, a special shout out to Darius Gaiden, which I think is absolutely awesome as well. Not sure how common and cheap Darius Gaiden is, but for me it's an absolute must own, and one of the 10 ten USA Saturn games.
My favorites for the Saturn that I think are common are; Gex, Daytona, Three Dirty Dwarves, Mr. Bones, Nights into Dreams, Lost Vikings 2; thats all I can think of off the top of my head.
The Saturn sure has a lot of unique games that you just can't get the same experience anywhere elese I'm not sure how expensive any of them are but ...
Platformers:
Clockwork Knight and CK2 ... weird yet fun little platformers; CK1 has better music but CK2 is the much better (longer) game. Find all the cards in CK2!
Astal ... slower 2D platformer where you play as a hulk boy. Great colors and 32-bit era FMV and music. It isn't "exciting" but you can't get anything like this anymore. Samurai-showdown-style FX -- lots of scaling and animation.
Saturn Bomberman ... this is must-have. It is the best Bomberman game of all time. Great 1-player and multiplayer (we usually play4- or 5-player with a multitap).
Earthworm Jim 2 ... same as Genesis version, except far better visuals.
Three Dirty Dwarves ... this is a beatem-up like Streets of Rage, but far more unique. Bigger and well animated sprites.
NiGHTS into Dreams with 3D analog pad --- this is my favorite Saturn game. you can read all about it all over the net.
Racing Games ... #1 is Sega Rally. The 2 Daytonas are very dated now for different reasons each, but if you own no Daytonas, you may enjoy these. Me, I'm done with them. #2 game recommendation is Manx TT with a NiGHTS analog pad. Tilt dat horizon , baby!
Shooters: Darius Gaiden, Galactic Attack, and Tempest 2000 are all recommended highly by me!
Others: Panzer Dragoon 1 and Zwei (should be cheap).
Galactic Attack comes to mind right away and it's surprising it took as long as it did to receive its first mention.
I suppose Die Hard Arcade is considered rare these days? It hasn't been mentioned, but I wouldn't pass it up if you come across it at a decent price ($15 or so) during your Saturn shopping trips. Good luck.

Good list ^ above, which reminded me of Rayman, Baku Baku and of course Street Fighter II Alpha.
hehehe, now this is where I shine Out of over 800 Saturn titles it'S hard to pick my best 10 but I'll have a shot.
1. - Sega Rally
2. - Daytona USA (Yeah, looks like shit but plays a dream)
3. - Panzer Dragoon Azel/Saga (JPN/PAL only)
4. - Virtua Cop 2
5. - Burning Rangers
6. - Sonic Jam
7. - Dead or Alive (JPN only)
8. - DoDonpachi (JPN only)
9. - Steep Slope Sliders (JPN/PAL, not sure if it got a US release)
10 - Virtual On
Of course there are loads of great games that could be added to that list but they're probably harder to find than the ones above.
