This game seems to have been a precursor to those dancing games you saw around 2000.

It was a 1986 arcade game by Sente. It had a 3X3 grid below you, and you stomped down on the squares to stomp something on-screen. I would imagine that the creatures moved more and more quickly.

I never actually saw the game in any arcade, but if those dancing games were at all popular, then this game may simply have been ahead of its time, although the tech specs for it do not seem to have been any better than a 1982 ColecoVision or Atari 5200. It certainly would have been easy enough to have produced a home version.

Did Sente ever have a game that reached the levels of popularity achieved by Atari?
