Now, the tough part - tracking down the elusive PSP version if you're going for the gusto!

After doing a few moderate searches I found out that this game is not tough to find at all. It's also pretty cheap too.

Yeah, somehow I believe that Gamestop was purposely holding back their new copies of both the PlayStation 2 and PSP versions so they could open them and re-release them as used. I discovered over the weekend that they did that with copies of River King for PlayStation 2.

I seriously doubt that many people bought the game and traded it in, so maybe it was never that rare at all.

What is the point of that? If they paid full price from a wholesaler, what would be the benefit of selling it at a used price?

It's not rare. Gamestop was just hoarding all their copies.

Both versions were reprinted thanks to GQD. When they sell their leftover stock to EB/GS they are bought and turned into used. They are new... but they are being sold as used. GameStop has been doing this for a few years now. There was no hoarding, there was a reprint.

Perhaps, but you gotta admit that hoarding copies of games would fit their bad guy corporate image perfectly.

Yup. I was at GS yesterday and saw two used copies of MSA for the PSP marked at $17.99.
