Default Audio in PS2 games skips...

Dammit. At first I thought it was just the copy of Katamari Damacy I recently got in trade, but now it's doing it with Okami, too.

I was playing a PS1 game a bit ago (Tekken 3 GH), then I turned off the PS2 for a bit, got Okami, put it in the system, turned it on, and the music during the intro was kinda skipping. It sounded like someone was pushing the mute button repeatedly.

I'm not sure what is causing this... what can I do?

Well it can be either one of these 3 things. It can be your laser. It can also be your disc. If your disc is in good shape then your left with your laser or your audio video cable/Input. Try to eliminate one thing and get another cable. If you are still having problems then look at your disc. If your disc is in good condition then your left with your laser.

    ...

Actually, it looks like the problem was caused by the KARAOKE REVOLUTION MICROPHONE. WTF.

I unplugged everything, gave it a quick clean with compressed air, then plugged everything but the microphone. And it worked fine. What the hell?

    hmm thats weird

    but like RyanMurf said

it's mostly lasers on psx's that breaks EASYLY

they are the worst lasers ever built

they are very fragile on the long term playing wise

I had 5 psx (all skipped one day or the other)
had 3 ps2 (1 skipped) but i used it very much for DVD viewing back then.,

#1 I say try to Clean your lens
#2 try other games See if it skips
#3 Try to see if you can change your lens for a new one
    that would solve every problems
