Default HUGE Console Collection - 95+ Systems! UPDATED 05Oct07

    Hello all.

Well I just got finished posting my updated display and console collection, and finally added pictures of my games. There are over 180 pictures and are organized into 6 albums for easy viewing. The pictures are split into albums and have text describing each picture and grouping. New albums include the games and how my collection evolved (display and systems), along with the system(s) set up detail.

    The link:

I'll attach a couple of pics here to give you a taste. Looking forward to your thoughts.

Let me be the first to complment the N64 bulky drive.

Let me also say that the leafy green stuff MAKES that set-up, and I'm the last person to have decorating taste.

    Absolutely gorgeous set-up.

I absolutely love the shelving. In particular, I love the corner shelf above the tv that the SegaCD games sit on.

How much did that cost to set up per piece? My collection has sadly grown to the point that my elf racks just aren't suitable for it anymore and I'd love to migrate to something cleaner and more professional looking like that. Elf racks are nice and all for apartments and dorms, but they just feel too small and inadequate for a home setting

That's a great collection, man. Nice work there! Did you build the shelving?

I've been looking through the photos and that's really an amazing collection you have. Everything so far is in very good condition, even the packaging. The Neo Geo CD is listed as 1991. I thought you may be listing it as 1991 because it's a variation of the Neo Geo, but the Sega CD is listed as 1992. The Sega CD isn't a simple variation of the Genny though, so you may be listing the Neo Geo CD as that...a variation. The PSone, however, is listed as a 1999 release. I guess you've just made a mistake in there somewhere because your dating doesn't appear to be consistent. There are more but I'm too tured to remember right now. Sorry, I just wanted to bring that to your attention. ;P

Thanks for the kind words all.

Dangerboy - the green leafy stuff does help to soften it up a bit, not too mention keep the lady friend off my back a bit

roushimsx - the corner shelving over the TV is actually two floating wall shelf units - the same that I used over the the PC station. I got them from ikea.com a few months ago and I am not sure if they carry them anymore (or they may just be out of stock). They are 10.5" deep by 48" long and they ran around $20 a piece shipped.

DeputyMoniker - the main shelving unit I actually bought at Target, only after looking for quite a while for something that was open and yet flexible. The standard shelving started with 6 shelves, including the top (you can see in the Archived Display album what the original shelving looked like). I kept adding shelves here and there using 12" x 72" plywood, painted them black, and supported them using L-brackets.

DeputyMoniker - Thanks for the letting me know about the Neo geo CD - I definitely had the wrong date on typed in there (s/b 1994 - maybe early 1995 for the top loading version). I am pretty sure that the remodeled Playstation, the PSOne, did debut in 1999 - but please let me know if this is incorrect (as well as any other typos or other incorrect dating).

Thanks again all for the comments and suggestions - much appreciated!

A very nice collection that's beautifully displayed... It must be a challenge to dust though!

Really nice - something to be proud of, for sure...

The PSone was released the same year as the PS2. 2000.
I'm not sure about the NGCD though.

Didn't the Genesis model 2 come out in 1993?

Awesome collector if I must say so myself. Also you are 50 times more organized and cleaner than me. Behind my television it looks like giant spider webs of cables and cords everywhere.

Oh, yeah that reminds me. You say any system can be hooked up within seconds. Will you explain how that goes? Where & how do you store your controllers? What about the cords?

Thanks for the help in letting me know about some of the data errors I had.

DeputyMoniker - the PSOne was released in 2000. Thanks!
Gentlegamer - the Genesis 2 was released in 1993. Thanks!

DeputyMoniker - as far as the hook-ups, I have under the TV a) 20' Component cable b) 20' a/v cable c) 20' RF/Cable w/TV switch. All are run through a separate input on the Pelican 10 Switch System connector. The RF I run through a simple A/B switch (cable in one side, RF in the other, out to TV). Also underneath the TV is a 20' power cord. I store all the cords, controllers, etc. in boxes to avoid having to mess around with the original system packagin (all of them stored away). A quick picture of the boxes I use and how they are organized (got the boxes from Office depot in the mailing supplies section) is attached.

Thanks again all for the feedback and help!
