Default Anyone picked up MLB Power Pros yet?

I'm itching for another good baseball game and this one looks promising.

I finally got a Wii so I would be more interested in that version, but I also have a PS2.

    Any impressions?

Haven't picked it up yet, maybe Thursday but someone on Neo-Geo.com has written a little write up on it. Just check the forums under "next gen consoles"

picked this up today, pretty cool so far (I've only played 1 game so far) and basically its a full version BB game with cutesy characters and an over hyped announcer instead of realistic graphics.

Great game so far and there are tons of option/game types on the main menu that I haven't tried yet.

BTW-I played my game using the retro controller.

Can you tell me about the Homerun derby. I love a good Homerun derby. Basically can you also do the Homerun derby with the Wiimote, and what are the rules of the derby?

    Thanks

This game is pure awesome on a disc. If you like baseball games like Baseball Stars, RBI, and Little League for the NES, you will feel right at home with this.

I mean, yeah, it has the whole 3D batting/pitching thing with the strike zone and cursors and such, but if you like, you can go into the settings and make it so that your bat's cursor locks on to the ball and any contact is decent contact. That automatically turns the game into a next-gen Baseball Stars where timing is everything and you swing on strikes and pass on balls.

I play it normally myself, and it is a blast. Full team customization...this ALONE is worth the price of admission, as the 'Success" mode, and 'RPG build-a-player- mode, if you will.

All in all, there is so much you can do with this game it's intimidating. I cannot recommend this game enough! I got the Wii version, and that was only $40. The PS2 version is only $30! I wanted to use the Wavebird which is why I ponied up the extra sawbuck.

I was interested in this game as well. I see it is published by 2k7. Not sure who developed it.

It is developed by the team that did The Bigs? As that was awesomeness on a disc too.

Is the game play anything like the bigs or Wii Sports Baseball?

This game is developed by Konami, and is a localization of their long running, award-winning PawaPro series. Where The Bigs is more arcadey, this actually skews more sim. VERY sim, actually. But you can decide just how statistical you want it to be. Only a few modes use the actual motion sensing, which is a good thing in my book, as it's the 1st baseball game I've played in a loooong time that takes me back to my NES days.

The parts that do utilize the motion sensing play like a more fleshed out version of Wii Baseball. I wouldn't purchase the game just on the strength of that mode, but it is a nice bonus to the package as a whole. Plus I love the graphical style....chibi chibi!
