    Default DIY MAME Cabinet

Thought I would share some pictures of my DIY MAME Cabinet that I started building last December! Unfortunately the move to Italy put that project on hiatus because I thought I wouldnt have room in the new place... boy was I wrong!

Regardless, it sits semi-completed and working naked in storage. Here are the pictures:

This is an original project, shouldn't it be in Arcade Alley instead?

Yup, and that's where it landed.

The woodworking on that thing looks terrific. Yet another reason why classic cabinets don't need to be destroyed!

I thought for sure with a control panel that large you were going to have tons of joysticks and buttons. It looks a little sparse with those two small joystick/button clumps. Maybe some artwork or something will make it look more busy.

Thanks for the compliments. For a novice wood worker, i think i did pretty good!

The control panel needs to be reworked/wired when I get back stateside. I made the controls parallel to the angles, and it makes controlling it rediculous. That and the wire I used turneout out really crappy (it was a pain to route, not flexible, and just overall disappointing).

I originally planned on a golden t track ball but they are $200! At the time I didnt want to shell out an extra $200 on top of the rest of the cost. 2 years from now when the project goes on again, i think i will be able to swing it Pun intended.
