I've ordered the romset on CD-R from a couple people in the freemameroms project years ago. Last time was v0.76 so it's been quite awhile. Freemameroms is no more but Lazarus is still around. Good results from this gentleman in the past. Honestly I wouldn't trust anyone outside of those circles.

Don't know anything about these guys but I know there's an online group that'll burn the sets for free as long as you send them the blank discs and return postage:

    http://www.lazarus.org.uk/index.php?burners

A full MAME rom set + CHD's is only 11 dvd's? I thought it was a lot more than that.

I've been thinking about buying a full MAME rom set with CHD's, artwork, and everything else. Anyone want to go in on a set with me?

I know about Lazarus, but frankly, I'd just rather pay someone to do everything for me and not have to worry about sending discs and return postage. I'd pay $30 shipped to anyone who can burn me a full MAME set with chd and everything.

A complete, full MAME set would sure be nice. I have been chasing my tail on a MAME project this past week. I'm upgrading a friend's MAME cabinet and went from .86 to .112. In the process, half the ROMs broke and I couldn't get -autosave to run. I dropped back to .108 and most (but not all) of the ROMs started working and -autosave started working. Then I had to track down versions of the games that worked in 108. What a pain.

Cool. I placed an order with them today. $7 shipping overseas is a pretty good deal.

Yeah, somewhere around the end of the v0.80's nearly everything changed concerning the core romset. And yes, it is indeed a pain if you have an older romset. Damn glad I have the v0.76 romset, comes in handy for an underpowered cabinet like my Pole Position cab (v0.56).

Just go to pleasuredome, if you can spare the space and bandwidth. Roms are around 16 or 17 gigs now, CHDs 60.

It's just a question of time and effort involved. I'd rather just pay somebody than to go to the trouble of downloading a file that large and worry about it being corrupted somehow during the download.

Well I took a chance and ordered, there follow up and everything seems
very professional so far, there rates are certainly acceptable (especially
shipping) and the nice labeling is a bonus! in preperation I've downloaded the latest version
of MAME32 (my favorite interface) just tried with an older set of roms, forgot how awesome the whole MAME setup is! looking forward to getting it, let you know what I think later!
