Hey, it tried to hang me!! Damn DC got all offensive when I mocked it about its poorly secured power supply board.

Really though, to replace the battery don't even screw with the welds. Remove the battery clip (and the attached battery) at its attachment points to the PCB, then replace the whole works with a battery retainer that allows battery replacement.
