Default picture of the Ultravision 2600 expansion module

I ran across this pic on Gamespot of all places. In case you never heard of the Ultravision, that's this thing:

What I didn't realize until reading the write up on the mighty AGH is the Ultravision was not meant to play VCS cartridges. You had to have the gigantic "expansion module" in the first picture.

Apparently these things were actually shown at CES 1982. Has anyone even come close to seeing one of these things? Or know someone who knows someone who came close to seeing one of these things? I was 11 years old when the Ultravision was advertised in EG and I remember thinking even at that age "Man that thing will NEVER come out".

BTW there was also a computer add on.

Yes...and they supposedly planned to release expansion modules to play Intellivision and ColecoVision games as well.

Not sure if it's just me, but the second two pics don't work for me.

Something to do with contact lenses, I think. Perhaps a dispenser of contact lenses.
