So I've got a question about that. What does Darius Plus look like in a Super Grafx? I've played the PCE version quite a bit and seen videos on youtube of the SG version, and they look the exact same. I've been trying to look for extra scrolling layers or ANYTHING... and I can't see one lick of difference.
Maybe it's more a matter of using the SuperGrafx hardware to do things that otherwise take extra processing cycles on the PC Engine, thus producing the same graphics, but with improved frame rate? I have no idea. I have the game on the way though, and I'm curious about this myself. If I figure it out, I'll try to remember to post my findings.

Darius Plus has less flickering on the Super Grafx
It doesn't do much of anything. In the PCE version, the sprites make up the 'overlapping' BG layers. For SGX mode, all they did was relocate those sprites to the second video processor. They didn't even make them into a second BG layer. They're still sprites o_O
Someone mentioned something about bosses, but I don't remember anything different there between the two.
It's not an SGX game. It's a PCE game with a tiny/cheap modification to reduce flicker when plugged into an SGX.

A Turbo Duo with a Kisado adapter (and optional Arcade Duo card) is the way to go. You'll be able to play everything in the TG/PCE library except the 6 Supergrafx games. This is what I use for my setup and it really isn't that expensive. The only downside is that the Turbo Duo is kind of fragile (poor build quality).

So if I understand this correctly, Darius Plus looks the same between the two, the different systems just accomplish this in different ways?
That's ridiculous.
It "looks" the same if you're talking grpahics ,but it doesn't move the same, since it has less flickerings.
