K mart, $2.99 for 10 memorex clear cases, target $3.99 for same product
i buy these more for my dreamcast games, theyre all clear.
Pretty much, but with a flat hub, not raised. you can get some pretty nice deals on line in bulks of 50 or so.
There you go.
I bought a stack of some 20 CD cases years ago on Christmas clearance and still have a few left over. Generally it's the front or back parts of the cases that crack so don't worry much about cases with black CD holsters.
Now, if you plan on collecting plastic long boxes for early PS or Saturn/Sega CD games then pick up cheap long boxed games (even sports titles) with great/perfect cases as they'll come in handy down the road with a lil switcheroo.

How do I get the back insert in, BTW?

the middle part, the part that holds the disc snaps open. then you can just slide the insert out.
There are 2 tiny circles on the bottom edge of the cd cases.
Put the pen tip through them with gentle pressure to pop out the cd tray from the outer case; do one side at a time.
I havent had a broken tab in years doing this.
On a side note - the jewel cases Sega Dreamcast games used seem sturdier than what is available at the store. But if you take care of your games very well, this shouldnt matter too much.

I thought this thread would be about where to get the European or Japanese replacement cases without having to buy crap sport games to salvage the cases from. You know what I mean, the ones that are shaped like nothing else in existence? If one of those break, then you're really out of luck.
I have the same troubles with Sega CD, Sega Saturn and Turbo Graphix. There is nothing like those cases out there so I'm stuck with scuffed cases which bothers me somewhat. Why is it that used games cases are almost always abused so badly that you need to replace them?
Also I need Xbox, Gamecube and PS2 replacement cases as well. Those are far different from normal replacement DVD cases. I can get away with it on the PS2s, but green is a must for Xbox and GSs really need something special for those mini dvds they use. Now that I think about it, Wii uses white, so there will be another colour I'll be needing when I get into that system as well. /rant
