    Default Original Xbox question

Got a pal who wants to sell me his xboxes. 1 is a Halo LE box and the other is a mod. He wants $200. I know what the going rate is for a regular run of the mill box, but these two are a little harder to come by. What do you guys think? Could I at least break even down the road?

$200 for the pair? Maybe... it's not a great deal, but not a ripoff either. Talk him down to $175

Checkout the upgraded one and research the value of the LE version.

You can sell the LE later for big bucks.

The Halo LE isn't going to move for big bucks, it was a very wide released 'Limited Edition', though not as widely released as the Halo 3 360 LE.

I've been offered a decent amount for mine before (a sealed mint boxed one), but not a ton more than what I paid retail for it when it released... and that was a year or two ago. You can stumble into some still used in GameStops for whatever an XBox normally sells for there.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I sold a soft modified Halo LE complete with the box/paperwork for about $50 more than I originally paid. They do come up fairly often and of course on ebay they are always available. I also sold a regular soft mod box a few months back with no controllers and cables for $60.

I'd say if he upgraded the xbox HD and put a switchable mod chip in instead of soft modding it- it may be worth it. But you need to find out what he's done to the xbox. And you can get the Halo XBOX for well under 100 bucks... probably 60 bucks or so at a pawn shop/GS/video store.
