I wouldn't mind getting ahold of a copy of this as well. Has this ever shown up on Ebay? The only thing like this I've found was a Mario christmas VHS at goodwill.

And yes, it's terrible. So is the one-shot Bubsy cartoon, for that matter.
When it comes to obscure cartoons based on games, I'd really like to find out more about the Bionic Commando series that was apparently in the works around 2000. It had an IMDB listing several years ago, but that's since been deleted.

I had no idea it was sooo.... "special"
but still I'll take silly DIC cartoons over the anime garbage thats on tiv nowadays.
so far I've transfered it to dvd ,I just need to find the wires for my dvd drive and I can upload it for all to "enjoy" ;-)
I watched the intro, then instantly vomited. Good lord, that was terrible. I don't think I could stomach the entire thing.

i've got it ready to go, but can any of you guys recomend a good dvd ripping program that doesn't require alot of work to figure out ?
I just watched this and couldn't help but notice the name of the writer is David Wise, I wonder if it is the same David Wise who does the music for a lot of Rare's games.
All that marketing plans just look to me like they had the words 'Ninja Turtle' crossed out and the word 'Battletoad' written above it in crayon.
Lick me! LICK ME!!

I'm fairly sure that the writer was this David Wise.

I actually still have my VHS tape of the Battletoads cartoon which I bought at Wal-Mart when I was ten years old. I've since lost the box but the tape still plays.
Honestly, the show isn't THAT bad. Honestly, sometimes when I hear people criticizing Battletoads, I want to ask "Umm, did you ever see any of DIC's cartoons that DID get picked up for a regular series? Like, you know... Wish Kid? Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog? (For that matter, Sonic Underground)? Captain N? The almost endless Mario cartoons? And so on and so forth until the end of time?"
Not saying 'Toads was great by any means--it was DIC after all and DIC is phenomenally incapable of making good cartoons (with the exceptions of COPS, Legend of Zelda, The Littles, New Archies, and Inspector Gadget), but it gets a worse rap than it really deserves.
... Anyway, someone asked where the story that the 'Toads were originally humans came from. Now, I'm not exactly up on Toad-lore myself, however I do have this dandy little book called "Battletoads: the Ultimate Battlebook" (I believe this was published by Prima) which posits yet another "the Battletoads were once human" story... though in their version, the 'Toads were kids who got sucked into a video game that they were beta-testing and became toads in transit.
