Me and only one other DP member (Dr. Morbis?) both agree that Tengen's Temple of Doom is actually a great game. It is difficult to get the hang of, but once you do it's a lot of fun. If you can handle the control scheme, you'll find that it's actually got some cool game design. I've never been able to beat it.
It's designed a lot like many old Atari games (Gauntlet, for example) where there are hidden warps and you can skip multiple stages. If you want, you can be at the last level in 5 minutes. Problem is, if you don't play all the way through (or at least SOME of the way through) you don't have enough ammo to succeed at a particular task (crossing that huge lava pit). To do the game right is a hell of an undertaking. I still play this game a couple times a month and it's always a challenge, and there's nothing else that really plays like this on the NES.
His "Atari 5200" video made me laugh. The part about the trouble caused by the 5200 controller was exactly true.
"Sega CD," Sega 32X," and NES "Ghostbusters" were also pretty funny.
Interesting stuff, here (COMPLETELY unbiased opinion, hehhehheh):

Temple of Doom was one of my favorite arcade games growing up.
My Gaming Collection (Now at Google Drive!)
I thought the Indiana Jones video was another perfect blend of comedy and straight review by AVGN.
Great great stuff. Glad to hear that the YouTube debachle was all a silly mistake.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
New one up, Star Trek. Nice to know he used the Vectrex in a review now yay!

Not to mention that his style would take a serious hit via basic cable. No more awesome crazy Mecha-Jesus stuff. Please no.

No joke, I used to play that NES game all the time as a kid for some reason.
Don't remember the "Is it alright?" part, but it made me laugh so hard when it popped up in the video.
And don't bring up that stupid girlie Aladdin rip off! Shantea?
Damn it. Now the prices of a Vectrex on eBay will increase dramatically.
The only problem with the AVGN is that every time he introduces a more obscure classic system, a bunch of casuals who watch his "funny Internet video" decide to hop on eBay and start looking to buy one.
I haven't gotten around to purchasing every classic system James owns yet so it makes me end up having to pay more when I finally get around to getting them.
avgn inspired me to actually get a 2600 to which i went onto ebay for.

I haven't finished watching the Star Trek episode yet, But I was laughing as soon as the music started. The more of Star Trek you've watched (Not "The Next generation",) The funnier it is. It also helps if you've watched the star trek movie "The Search For Spock"
Edit: What is wrong with the video? It stops before it ends! I'm stuck in the "1920s" Part!

Some of his videos are great, some are just ok. This one was pretty funny, more importantly...he gives me reasons to never play the games he reviews for insanity factors

It was kind of tame by Nerd standards, but still enjoyable.
