Yeah, I can imagine that.
I wish someone would invent a more Sega-centric version of the Nerd.

Alot of AVGN's angle is coming to terms and putting the final verdict in. He basically is justifying in his mind that he really didn't need a Sega CD as much as he thought he did as a child.
I myself, like alot of people here who mainly played the SNES/Genesis probably wanted a Sega CD but their parents wouldn't buy one for them because of the cost.
The FMV crap ruined the Sega CD's legacy, but what I wouldn't give to go back to 1994 with a fresh copy of Snatcher as a child
I Have to agree COMPLETELY. 100% With you on the gawdawful Irate Gamer.

He did another one for Pat's stream, River City Ransom. Not officially released yet but it is uploaded to Youtube:

And don't bring up that stupid girlie Aladdin rip off! Shantea?
I personally never cared much for RCR, either. Most people rave about that game. Not horrible but not my cup of tea.

I think the "idea" of the game might be more well loved than actual playing of the game. Its mixture of rpg elements, cutesy graphics, and humor made it quite a memorable experience after all, and sometimes our memories are superior to the actual object of the memory. With that said, River City Ransom rocks and I eagerly await its return to the Wii's virtual console.
Here, James steps outside of character and talks about CONTRA

Did it get taken off the Virtual Console? I downloaded that game on the Wii Virtual Console a couple years ago. I do like the game and think it is a classic, but the leveling up was long and tiring. You were in double trouble if you didn't know which items yielded the highest gains.
Isn't River City Ransom EX (GBA) the way to go now?
(I still hope someone will one day translate the 68k version, which apparently is even more complex.)
