Its sort of like the PS3 vs 360 debate today in which the PS3 had a better processor but the 360 has a better graphics chip. I loathe all the problems I have had with my 360's but I have had more fun overall with it than with the PS3 because the games are cheaper and easier to get and you know most real gamers use XBOX Live. I really wanted the PS3 to be my system of choice but it just didnt work out that way as I saw no real reason with hard drives being a better solution for movies. The 360 is the better system in the end even though it shouldnt be.....
IMHO The SNES was a better built system over the Model 2 Gen. Mine gave me a ton of problems back in the day like the AV port becoming loose, The SNES never did with the same kind of wear and tear. Basically I had more fun with my Genesis but any epic new titles I was buying for the SNES, like Mortal Kombat 2 or 3. Its like this with the PS3, if I am buying an epic title like a new Metal Gear Solid or Resident Evil, I am going to go with the Bluray format just so I can get everything the developers meant to be in there before DLC kicks in.
My opinion is the Genesis had a ton of B to B+ games while the SNES had like 5 A+ games and alot of C ones. They both had their share of stinker games but I remember more for the SNES for some reason.

So, it looks like Doug Walker is retiring the Nostalgia Critic.

About time. He was pretty stale the past two years.
So, today I went to Cinemassacre and was shocked twofold.
One, AVGN has a new review.
Two, OMG ME AND HIM MUST HAVE SOME SORT OF SYNCHRONOCITY!
Because... the game he reviewed... is the game that has been haunting my dreams since last summer.
Ladies and gentlemen... AVGN on Ghosts n' Goblins
I thought it was a good review. It wasnt a bad game like Predator so he only had the tough factor to get pissed about. WOnder how many petitions hes gonna get now because of this hahaha.
Great video by the nerd. Amazed he found so many things to be annoyed with.

HAHA!
I knew he was going to get taken by surprise by the 2nd run through. I've never done it on Ghosts N' Goblins for NES, but I've done it a million times on Ghouls N' Ghosts where you HAVE to use that damned Psycho Cannon to beat it just like the shield.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
You can kind of tell he was just going through the motions (there can't really be anyone left who wants to play G&G these days who doesn't know about having to go through it twice, right?), but methinks he delivered on what the people wanted.
I hope the movie production isn't getting to him. Now there's something that can really break a man, I reckon.

I actually laughed when he avoided the axe.
Good stuff. I particularly enjoyed the RPG-esqu final battle between the Nerd and the Ghost 'n Ghoblins cartridge. Hey, can anyone confirm the shield rumor that AVGN spoke about?
I think he meant the other rumor: that if you try to fight Lucifer without the Shield, you get sent back to Level 5.

The Shield rumor is completely true, at least in the Arcade version (so I imagine its true on the NES as well). This was confirmed by--of all people--the Irate Gamer, who suffered this very fate.
