Not one of his best episodes, but a solid episode nonetheless. I'd give almost all AVGN episodes 8 to 10 out of 10; Sonic '06 was a 10, this one's about an 8.5, definitely worth a watch.

It's cool to see him getting to games of the generations I grew up on. I didn't have Planet of the Apes though.

Haha. What "version" is that? Is it the one Rogue Synapse made years ago? Because that's the only one I was aware of.

oh no it was all the sudden FPV camera movement.

its weird, I cant watch people play FPS games but I have no problem playing them my self. I first noticed it really bad when some one invited me over to watch VHS.
ohh I felt like crap the next day...

Charlie's Angels was hilarious. I think the shorter format is a good choice by James.

Last few have been very humorous.

Great "review" of the Amiga CD-32. Really seems like an old nerd show, where he gets to complain about the hardware as well as the software.

Perhaps his most "epic" episode yet, the real Macauley Culkin in the House!

The Aladdin Deck Enhancer, with some funny "colleague" cameos as well.

I only sort of like his Rental Reviews videos, they're clearly a rip off of the various Red Letter Media reviews but less well made for some reason.

I'm iffy on AVGN these days. Like, sometimes I have fun with him but then there are videos like Super/Virtual Hydlide which just annoy me because he's so clearly trying to make the games sound worse than they are (Super Hydlide at least is legit good. Not fantastic, but Nerd's video is just him complaining about his own idiocy and unwillingness to explore and not the game itself... tho the weight system can be annoying early on).

His episode about magazines seemed about just as forced to come up with something bad. Some points he brought up, like bad screen shots, were not an issue back in the day. The readers pretty much knew the mags couldn't always get great shots of games. So it was a lot of hot air for an attempt at entertainment with no real beefs.

Really I was hoping the magazines ep would at least be something nostalgic, like the Nintendo Power episode was, and some parts of it were (I remember the Sega Saturn ad with the naked woman--reading that magazine in the car with my mom driving was really, really awkward). I kinda wish he had gone on longer and talked about more stuff, but yeah, it wasn't good overall.

Of the more recent episodes the one I liked most was the Game Boy Accessories, I wish more were on that level.
