Default Sega Saturn Collector's Guide CD

    Hello all,

I have been able to get some reasonable priced hosting for my Saturn Collector's Guide CD, so it may now be downloaded (in addition to purchased on CD). This is a large download (approx 600 MB), so you will need a high speed connection.

You can download this for free, of course any donations are appreciated

The CD contains gameplay videos for 160 of some of the best Saturn games. This would be useful for those new to the Saturn. And also cool for people who have had a Saturn for a while, and are wondering about some of the rarer games.

If anyone's interested, just go to www.SegaSaturnGuide.com

I would appreciate it if this information is not posted at other forums or websites for at least a couple months. I would like to space out the downloads a little.

    Thanks !

    DefaultGen,

Thank you for the offer, but for now I would appreciate it if you didn't upload it.

I would rather have people go through my site to get it, so they can read the history behind it's creation. Plus it will make more people aware of the USB DataLink device that I also make.

Then again, if there are so many downloads that my bandwidth is exceeded, I may change my mind

downloading now. can't wait I bought a saturn not even 6 months ago and played many of the popular and some (almost all of) the rare/expensive titles with the exception of psychic killer taramaru which I have seen video of. I just sold it though (my saturn) but may buy another if this thing of yours can convince me (and a nicer one than my previous which was an old US system with a 3D control, an aftermarket control and an Svideo connector and a 4 in 1 cart and ST key)

A typical Windows installation will include the codec necessary to play the videos. If, however, the videos will not play, you may have to install the codec manually. Do not pay for the codec! You should be able to get this free. I believe the following link will let you get it for free: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Indeo_Codec.htm

I also think I included a link in the readme.txt file (but this may now be outdated).

Also another bit of info for anyone having trouble running this.

    1) The files need to be unzipped to a subfolder (as opposed to a root directory like c:\). So make a directory called c:\saturn_cd or c:\program files\saturn_cd to unzip the files into.

    2) The exe MUST be run from this same directory. I think that it is acceptable to create a shortcut on your desktop. But if you do, just make sure to "create shortcut here" and not "copy here". If in doubt, just use Windows Explorer and run the exe right from the directory.

I will try to add this info to my webpage as soon as I can.

Has anyone been successful at downloading/running this yet?

The link in the readme is outdated.

    I found it here... http://www.darimcctv.com/support/reg_software.php

    It's the "IV5SETUP.EXE" link

Although I think your new link looks good as well

Yeah once I downloaded the codec all was well, not a bad start with a few changesand a upgrade to dvd it would be worth purchasing.

Have you considered using bittorrent.... Could reduce your hosting cost considerably.
