What Game is this?

A friend is trying to remember an arcade game, and I know this is the place of ultimate knowledge. So name this game.

Its' a topdown view shoot-em-up where you progress through levels in
different time periods and you pick up more "lives" by picking up
characters on various levels. Viking warrior, Zulu, WW2 marine,
cybernetic WW3 warrior, etc. It was out in '92-'95 -ish.

I do believe that is it. There's a pretty good port of it for the Sega Master System.
