Default Friend is selling his NES set to finance a PS3. What do you think he can get for it?

Here is the listing on Craigslist with pictures: http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/tag/623607551.html

He says he's already got an offer for $100. I think he should take it, but I don't know my NES games very well when it comes to their value, so I thought I'd see what some more knowledgeable ones have to say.

$100 sounds about right for that. if he waited around, he could maybe get $125, but that could take a lot of waiting...and he probably doesn't want to sit on it for an extra month or more just to make a little more money.

Also, tell him that he's making a horrible mistake and should never sell his NES, ever!

I don't think he should sell it either, considering he'll probably re-buy it in the future (unless he has another). But $100, is a good price for this- as a bunch of those games are fairly common.

Thanks guys! I'll tell him to take the $100 offer.

He won't regret selling this. He's not a collector like we are.

100 sounds about as much as he's going to get on any normal day as well. Also, he will regret selling it. You dont have to be a collector to apreciate the NES. You do on the other hand need to be one to apreciate some of the more odd systems out there.

agreed. i don't consider myself a collector, i only buy a game if i want to play it. admittedly i have a couple hundred nintendo games i've only played a couple of times at most...but when I play a game and don't like it, i usually end up getting rid of it.

$100 is a good price for that stuff. I wouldn't pay more than that...actually, I'd pay alot less than that. But thats just me.

$100 would be fair, I think...not really exceptional one way or the other. I'd have probably aimed a touch higher, maybe $110 or so, though I might have accepted the $100 offer. That Tengen Pac-Man is the 10th Anniversary version, which is decently rare (cart and manual = $12-$15), and the manuals for Best of the Best Championship Karate (cart and manual for this one = $12-$15, too) and Thunder and Lightning (cart and manual for this one = $9-$12) are also somewhat rare.
