Default GTA Double Pack : Xbox Vs. PS2

So I was in Gamestop today and saw the double pack, I've always wanted to pick up GTA III and Vice City but didn't want to pay the money when they came out and then forgot about them. The double pack is an amazing deal, it's cheaper used than it is buying them used separately. I'm gonna head back to it later tonight but I was just wondering if there are any BIG difference between the two versions, I would guess they are pretty much the same but you never know.

I'm not completely sure exactly what your asking, but if your asking if the Xbox or PS2 versions are superior, the Xbox versions win out over the PS2 versions. Go read some reviews for a quick summary of the improvements.

Yup, thats exactly what I was asking. I figured that the Xbox one would be better since it was released so much later.

I prefer the PS2 versions because the controls feel much more natural with the PS2 controller.

I do agree with this, although the xbox versions are far superior when it come to loading and gfx, the controller sucks for GTA,
I suggest the xbox version and then pick up a psx to xbox controller convertor, thats what I did
and at least now I can control the helicopters
    zomg I have a sig

    Not exactly true.

While the Xbox 1 version of GTA III is great with much better graphics the Vice City Xbox 1 port is FULL of bugs like cars getting stuck in bridges and many other glitches that arent found in the more solid PS2 build of Vice City.

Yeah, the Xbox versions have custom soundtrack support, which I prefer. The GTA III soundtrack IMO is classic (I own the actual promo CD soundtrack), but I'd get tired of it if it was the only thing to listen to in the game. And I don't like the '80's music in Vice City that much.
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.

I've never encounted any glitches in Vice City or remember it being mentioned in reviews, so I wouldn't let that sway your opinion. I was able to complete it without any glitches, though I encountered a handful of minor ones with GTA III such as a car freezing while airborne. Besides preferring the PS2 controller, there is no reason to go for the PS2 versions over the Xbox versions, in my opinion.

The PS2 versions have a slight edge in control, specifically doing drive-bys.

But I think the improved graphics and load times, and especially the ability to use custom soundtracks, gives the Xbox versions the edge.

I've played through both the PS2 and Xbox versions of GTA3 and VC several times and didn't find any significant difference in the number of bugs. Both versions of GTA3 have the infamous Purple Nines glitch unfortunately.

FYI, there is also a Grand Theft Auto Trilogy (GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas) box set for the PS2; San Andreas is the 'M' rated version (no 'Hot Coffee' ).

The Xbox version of SA is really superior to the PS2 one IMO. It has a really cool feature with the custom soundtracks where it randomly plays eveything on your HD and then adds in a commercial every three or four songs. Plus you can do instant replays. Also, IIRC, SA's saves eat up a lot of space on a PS2 memory card.

I think the control setup on Xbox is far superior to the PS2 especially when it comes to drive by's and just driving period. You use the triggers for the gas and brake and the right analog stick for drive by's. With the PS2 control setup you have to look with the right analog and then hit "x" I think to shoot whereas on the xbox you just "click" the right analog to fire. I also really prefer how the xbox controller ( I use the Logitech wireless) has more stiff feeling analogs so you can be a little more precise with aiming etc. The PS2 analogs just feel so loose and shitty.

Actually with the PS2, you press the L2 or R2 (depending on which way you want to fire) and then press O, with the X being the gas button.

I think the Xbox's way of having you click on the right stick can get unwieldy, especially when you're trying to drive fast and steer at the same time while doing a drive-by. The Xbox setup never hamepred me from beating all three GTAs multiple times anyway, so it's not even that huge of an issue IMO.
