Multiple consoles and 1 Optical port.

All right, it's late and I'm a bit tired, so I'll write this as best I can, and try to make some sense.

I'm looking at buying a cheap "Home Theater in a Box" for my consoles and TV. I don't know the first thing about setting these things up. Would I have my 360's optical cord plug into the optical port on the receiver, then the optical cable goes into the TV from the receiver? How do you get Dolby Pro Logic II from the Wii, when there's clearly no optical port? How would I get my PS3 and 360 to work with only one optical port on the TV? Are there selectors ala System Selectors? As you can tell, I don't know the first thing about any audio stuff, as I've always been a videophile, and even then my knowledge is fairly limited.

Here's what I got:
Vizio VX32L 32" HDTV
Xbox 360 Elite (HDMI)
PlayStation 3 (Component, will be HDMI eventually)
Nintendo Wii (Component)

Sorry if I confused the hell out of you guys, but I'm pretty tired, and I'm going to bed. Any help would be much appreciated.

The optical port from your 360 goes to the receiver only, not back to the TV. The receiver does all of the processing. You shouldn't need to connect any optical cables to the TV. Go right to the receiver to save on cables.

Pro Logic II is an analog audio option. You don't need optical.

I recommend the Pelican System Selector Pro for multiple optical ports if need be. Or, get a better receiver with HDMI audio/video processing and save money on the optical cables. One cable for those systems is not only easier, it's neater and easier to manage.

Yeah, that's what I've got and it works great. I have 4 systems with optical audio but only 2 inputs on my receiver. I just run them all thru the Pelican and use the extra optical input on my receiver for my receiver for the DVR box.

I hear the new versions of the Pelican Selector Pro are poorly made though, so watch out for those.

I picked up a manual optical switch for my reciever. Got it off of eBay for cheap, but don't need it anymore. If you want it or to see it, monoprice carries it but it was out of stock before.

EDIT: Also, on the Wii, you will use the Red and White cables with your receiver and they will output PLII audio. Dolby Digital is when you use Digital Coax, Optical, or HDMI.

Looking into it a bit more, I'd assume all I need is a setup that will allow two optical inputs (PS3 and 360)? Simple as that right?
